Well, well, well. My first post here... happy.gif

Hi.
I'm a skinner of the Edain mod and thought a long time about presenting some of my stuff here.
And today I give it a try.
My skins aren't perfect of course, but I always keep learning and would be happy about any comments or critics. wink.gif

So here we go:

First of all one of my oldest skins. Theodred, son of Theoden. Based on the Eomer model.
theodredrenderwg1.th.jpg

Next is Khamul. He's inspired by the Games Workshop Khamul, but I think that this is a very good interpretation of an Easterling Nazgul. smile.gif
khamul234wq0.th.jpg

Now some Reskins of Angmar Units.
A more natural colored Rogash. I made the armor older, the troll-skin darker and changed some details in the face so now he looks much better.
rogashwa7.th.jpg

And three randomskins for the Gundabad-orcs. New faces, new "armors" and iron shields. really orc-like. wink.gif
(That's an Edain render. Of course most of my skins will be playable in the Edain Mod)
Angmarorks.jpg

Last but not least a "side-project"...
A wild untameable greywarg. His favourite dish is Ketchup of course. wink.gif

That's all for now. Hope you like it.

Thanks. ;)

After i saw that the original EA skin had green faces and a sixpack-chest, I really tried to make them more "orcable". :crazed:

Very nice work. I like your Theodred and Gundabad-orcs. :crazed:

The only question I have is, why is Khamul's sword a bronzish-orange?

Yeah well...

I don't really know why. The blade supposed to be normal metallic.
But the model somehow took the skin of the golden hands/gloves for the blade. If I get a better screen, then I show it to you.

And thanks for the comments. :)

some of blades are uv mapped really wrong. they used any metalic part of skin for blades and other weapons. it is silly unless you are modeller as well as skiner. that is the reason why i remap every single model that i reskin.

Wow , very nice. Khamul is especially awesome.
Though , I have to say that Theodred has some spots that are blurry. If you look on his lower body , the scale mail , It's not as sharp as his upper body.
Oh and I don't know what Rogash looks like originally , so I can't really say if it's better or not :)

Then you can be very happy about this. :thumbsupsmiley:

Just trust me that he's better. The original Rogash had a shiny silver armor, an intense green skin and a piggy nose.

Got some new goodies. ;)

I've completely redone the skins of the dark Numenorean of Angmar for the Edain Mod. Their color-theme wasn't very good in my opinion. The red clothes and brown leather armors weren't cold and hard enough for Angmar. So I made a new "outfit", according to their Numenor-origins.

First the Dark Dunedain. They have chainmail and wear a black tunic with blue border and the emblem of the Ironcrown. With "heavy armor" they get a plate armor out of blacksteel.
Posted Image

Next the Dark Rangers. The largest change is that they're no longer rangers. :)
It simply doesn't fit at all to Angmar. Also Rangers in the frozen land would have to wear bright colors to hide in the snow, but I think that the black/blue-steel-theme ist much cooler.
The only ugly part is the face. The head of the modell ist really bad uv mapped so it screw the skin. I tried my best to make it acceptable.
Posted Image

And at last a new Morgomir. :p
I de-nazgul-ised him, which means I removed his blue face (EA really should overthink his background-story...).
Then I again changed his leather armor and the red comic-crown on his chest to hard dark steel plate. I do not changed his white hair because I think that it's a nice contrast.
Posted Image

That's all for now. Now the elite of Angmar really looks fearsome.

Ohhh... some nice skinning work here ;) Some suggestions:

1. The sword for the Dark Dunedain looks really thick and big. I suggest shrinking some parts down like the blade and the handle part.

2. Perhaps make Morgomir's skin tone a little more pale. It just looks tto natural right now :)

Other than that, good job.

Yes. i have to agree with Rob and his sword argument. Also: blue fire???
Rest looks really good

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides
By the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.
Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will,
Shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness,
For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children.
And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger
Those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers.
And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."

Well, the blue fire wasn't my idea. :thumbsupsmiley:
It was EAs solution for the Angmarian "ice arrow"-upgrade. ^^

And like already said, I never mastered the art of modelling. I'm just a simple man, who make simple skins. :thumbsdownsmiley:
I think too that the sword is way too big and looks rather like an executioning-sword. But I'm not really able to change it. ^^'

About Morgomirs skin tone...
Hm, good idea but I somehow think that he's already pale enough. I first have to check the skin ingame. Maybe I change it.

Long time, no see,
though I got new skins for thee!
(Sorry for rhyming ^^)

The current version of the Edain Mod is called "Hin und wieder zurück" (There and back again). It's not quite concerning the hobbit, but the major changes were made in the dwarfen- and the wild-faction (renamed to "Nebelberge" = Misty Mountains).

First our fancy modellers remade some of the great orcish personalities, such as Azog. My part of the work was done with the new skin.
Azog.png
The Lord of Moria is wearing an conventionalized dragonarmor out of blacksteel.
(Modell by Ealendril der Dunkle, Scale Mail by Persus)

Then I tried to give the orcish buildings a more naturalistic appearence by reskin everey single structure. It was mostly removing orange plates made out of undefinable material and replacing them with old wood, cracked stone or dark rusty metall. Most improving got:
The Fortress
Gundabad_fortress.jpg
And the Defense Tower (also with new 3D-Shader)
Ork_Turm.jpg

Some of the wild creatures also have to be made "wilder". For example the Giants now no longer look all the same:
Render_edain2_Giants.png

And we also needed some special guests, so three well known Trolls from "the Hobbit" found the way into our mod. ^^
TomBertBill.png

---------

The dwarfes now have the posibility to build the "Mausoleum of Durin" where the mortal remains of all Durins are buried. But legend tells that Durin the First, the Deathless, is not gone for ever, but sleeping within a solid layer of stone. The player can use the magical power of the One Ring to awake Durin the Deathless from his slumber and lead the dwarfen-realms to victory.
Durin_the_deathless.png
(great Modell by the great Thorongil03)

Further the dwarfen-units were reskinned and replaced. Also the mithril-update now really is shiny-white. (I know that mithril ist really rare in middle-earth, but thats the reason why the update will cost much more resources). For example there are:
Guardians from the Iron Hills
Dwarvenguards_Ironhills.png
Crossbowdwarfes from Ered Luin
Dwarvencrssbow_EredLuin.png
And Dwarfen Sentrys (I hope they're called so in english ^^) from Erebor
Dwarvensentry_Erebor.png
(modell-changes by Thorongil03)

And that's all for now. ^^
