Hello Hermoor
From your original post, before you figured out the problem and edited your comment, I could tell you would get it fixed; thanks for posting the update. :p Have fun playing SEE Mod!

I followed the instructions:

Put the SEE folder under \:C
Shortcut on desktop
Changed target to the game exe:

"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Battle for Middle-earth ™ II\lotrbfme2.exe" -mod SEE

Changed start in to:

"C:\"

Clicked on the shortcut on the desktop...games launches but nothing has changed. Still the same statues at the main screen...I got windows vista and it's patched t 1.06. What am I doing wrong?

EDIT: figured it out...that pdf makes no sense at all. You should edit it ;)

Well, how did he fixed it??? cause i have same problem, i have SEE in bfme2 folder and shortcut on desktop, target is: D:\program files\EA\bfme2 ™\lotrbfme2.exe" -mod SEE

But still the game starts with nothing changed, ive got the patch and english version :(, PLEASE HELP MEH :*(

How did you get it to work? Obviously the path should be adjusted to the w7 version but it still doesn't run for me.

thanks

I've recently dug out my game and wanted to play see once more , however like the people who have posted above me I am have difficulty getting the mod to work..

my direct path where I installed the game is as follows : C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Battle for Middle-earth ™ II
and I have my s.e.e mod folder installed to : C:\SEE

the shortcut paths that I have been trying to get working are

target: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Battle for Middle-earth ™ II"\lotrbfme2.exe" -mod "C:\SEE"

start in: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Battle for Middle-earth ™ II"

however when I try to apply said shortcut paths I get a error message saying that my target path is not valid and make sure the path and file name are correct , I thought I followed the instructions correctly :S hoping that someone will be able to help me out

Well its pretty simple, there must be an error in the target line somewhere. If the directory is correct try removing the space around the mod portion.

I had no problem modding the game a few years ago now its causing great frustration lol I don't know the path is as follows "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Battle for Middle-earth ™ II\lotrbfme2.exe" -mod "C:\SEE" but that only opens the vanilla game?? not the mod with or without the space it only opens default bfme2 not see

Download this program, install it, and run it:
http://bfme2-from-bo...erInstaller.msi
It is my launcher, not ready for a real public release yet but it works.
Make sure you run it as an Administrator.

Run it, then press on the Buttons tab, and press Add Button.
Give the button a title, i suggest the name of the mod. (S.E.E.)
It should have the game selected as BFME 2.
Then drag the .BIG file to the place it says "...Mod Directory..." (under the "mod location:")
(If SEE is installed as a folder structure (not a .BIG file) drag the folder onto that location)
Then press Ok, and press on the button you just created.

This should launch SEE for you.
If you have any troubles with it, let me know.

Hello there,

I've tried your installer Ridder and the installer seems to work at first but leaves no program to run aside from the installer itself after the initial download and 'run' point.

I've looked around on my laptop, even searched through my laptop several times folder by folder, but it installs nothing on my machine. It simply says installed and closes.

I have tried every which way to get the mod working and unfortunately it only runs the vanilla version of BFME2 (1.06) I'm not a modder so may have tripped up quite easily but i've followed the instructions to the letter and even re-done tthings according to the folks on heres suggestions.

I just can't get it to work. The mod gained a little bit of publicity from a YouTuber named Wardbyd who has been playing the mod (he has his pros and cons about it, but it's something different and i'm keen to try it) which is why i'm here. Is there no official installer on the way?

I realise it must be trickier than it sounds but an installer would've been something i'd have developed as soon as the mod was available. Given the clumsy-ness of noob modders like myself, alot of people may be denied the chance to play it.

So, anyone? A little help please? Or an official installer? :smilehuh:

Put the SEE folder into BMFE2's appdata folder ( C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\My Battle for Middle-earth™ II Files) Or where ever your appdata folder is.

Make a copy of your BFME2 shortcut and in the properties of the copied shortcut and after: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Battle for Middle-earth ™ II\lotrbfme2.exe" put ( -mod SEE) in ONLY the target box.

Hopefully, that'll work

Quick update, I got it to work! For some reason the second posts suggestion worked with a little tweaking and removing of certzin symbols or letters. I struck lucky really, if anyone is having trouble, try variations of the second post in this thread. That's what worked for me.

Thanks for the quick reply anyway Ranger :)

(The mod in term of effort and added features excellent, clearly alot of thought has gone into it, sadly you've gone way overboard on how long it takes to build units and what-not but still, it's great to see such a thing created by fans with so many good ideas and added units/heroes etc. An intermediate between this and regular BFME2 speed would have been perfect. Kudos to all involved!)

Hello.. I dowloaded this beautiful mod and installed correctly after many tries, it finally opened up the right way and I was so happy until the game screen, where everything happens to be black (on ultra high settings) and the click boxes are all purple..? I thought it might have been the screen and I tried to play a game but still everything black purple pixel snow etc.. Then, I reseted graphichs to default, still same problem! :( Please somebody help..

P.S. In any case you require me to tell you what kind of graphic card I use please tell where to find it cause I have no idea..
