Well, I wrote a long post and all that when my internet stopped... that's a bummer :evgr:

Anyways, in the post I said that I'm sorry, because I felt that I overreacted to a small matter... Which I did, but I still think you went to harsh on him av8r :evgr:
And I also quoted a few of the rules of Revora, to show that fishy didn't do anything illegal, and he told the truth, he didn't lie, and... another thing I can't recall :evgr:
And of course I knew it was your view on the matter ;) That's why I said this :D

Oh, and I sure am glad that av8r isn't up to him

I always read the things that are said as the person's own views, unless stated otherwise ;)

I don't know if Naz knew it works on pirated games or not, but the way I see it, it's just a scarecrow for pirates... If they really want this mod, then they'd get the game legally, to then play it ;)

I guess that buying a game for a mod is the greatest achievement a modder can have? ;)

IMO, Naz could have just said "We don't support piracy.. at ALL", and that would have been enough... plus the warn part ;)
Anyways, discussion ended... No bans, no warns, and hopefully less pirates in the world ;)

Right. There's no point in stealing. Take, um... say you wanted to get the movie Inglourious Basterds onto your ipod, this being far forward from now. It's sometime in 2010, and its up on DVD and Itunes. You go to get it off Itunes and it costs about 10 dollars. Download it on your 50-dollar Itunes giftcard, and you get a fresh, new, adventurous, funny WW2 movie with no hassle. If you went to something like UTorrent or Limewire and pirated it, you'd get 4% a movie that crashes as soon as it gets to a good part, and 96% malware, spyware, and viruses... worms, trojanhorse, bootviruses, all that shit. So buy stuff. Don't Pirate it.

To make your machinima legal, and if you're serious about video production, I would reccomend purchasing a music library instead of pirating copyrighted work

So... These words of Digitalph33r's apply to all musical activity, to.

True, even if you don't pirate stuff, being careless in the internet will eventually get you or your computer in trouble. If you are smart, you might even use pirated software just as good as the real deal, if not better since you can skip those annoying cd's and dvd's. That's why, ALL my games are cracked, even those in which I own and bought. I do value my discs a lot, therefore, cracks is a blessing, it saves your game disc and your money( what will happen if they disc becomes to scratchy eh? ).

Just to settle this thread. I own legall copies of BFME1 and 2, I admit that I actually did pirate bfme2 before I bought it, and the mod did work. I pirate most games I am uncertain of buying, those who I think I may regret if I purchase it. But when I play a good game, I usually end up buying it, I pirate a lot of my games, but... I buy the games worth buying, it's a matter of 1-3 hours, like or not = buy or not.

I am being honest right now, I've read the terms of use thingy, I haven't said anything that could get me banned in anyway. A large part, if not, most users on this forums has once in their life taken part of piracy. Including you Naz XD, you are Swedish, and not to be racist or anything, Swedish people love Thailand for some reason, and they usually buy pirated stuff in Thailand, so yeah! Just saying.

I know that a LOT of you will find this slightly offending, but hey, I am honest and expressing my opinions, it's up to you to accept them or not. I'm not in the mood of getting banned, that's for sure.
:p :) Since I haven't broken any rules, it's completely cool with you guys, I guess.

Sometimes, pirating isn't worth it, since you migth recieve bonuses if you buy it, example: I buy all my xbox 360 games with no exceptions, since I want my xbox live account to be up and running, I've had quite a few friends getting banned on live for pirating.

P.S
If you say I'm Swedish too, you are both right and wrong, I'm actually half Chinese/Japanese and Finnish. But I live fully integrated in Sweden. ;)

Rumors going around are that the next gen games won't come on disks anymore but on variations of a usb stick. I recall Nintendo saying way back just before the launch of the Nintendo 64 that they decided to stick with the cartridge because too many complaints about cd's getting scratched and broken were around, even though sony had their console on disks.

I did notice that the limited edition of Starcraft 2 comes with a usb stick with the original star craft and expansions on it. Plug it into your pc and you can play the original starcraft from it.

Personally I'll be glad to see the cd go for just these reasons. CD's do get scratched, worn and broken way too easily and then the money you spent goes down the drain.
No chance of returning....Zero chance of surviving....Well!? When do we get started?

This is my first post here so I don't want to be too annoying... LOL!

Piracy is a very problematic topic. It has no real right and wrong no matter how much the gaming Saints want to believe it so. I'm not going to get into the really deep stuff concerning copyright infringement and what file-sharing is and is not.

My brother and I are BIG gamers. We have a huge collection of originals between us, and a lot of it is BS as well (stupid, stupid buys). Many of the games are backed up on HD with the relevant DVD bypass and patch. This makes it a lot more convenient when we travel. Also, we don't have all the bandwidth in the world so it's pretty much the best workaround for us.

But I do have a lot of DVD with stuff I dragged along from university. The stuff is rampant down there! Only because not many kids has the money to buy a new release every time. I was one of the few who bought me a few releases in 2006 only because I took time off to work. I bought Darkstar One, BFE2 and a few other titles. But the rest I downloaded from the PUK network like MAD.

I don't feel like I was being a criminal or prevented the publisher/developer from making a sale. In fact, if I could never download the game I would propably not buy it. I would still use my hard earned cash and bought BFME2. Also, in my flat we were 6 guys swapping originals back and fourth the whole time. I could have been a ass and told the guys, hey! Go buy your own BFME2, if you play my copy they don't get a sale. It's legally wrong to borrow a game or DVD to someone else.

In fact, I don't know about other countries but in the narrow confines of our law I cannot borrow my mom's LOTR movie trilogy without the publishers conscent!

And Ubiscums current DRM fiasco is really putting a strain on a lot of peoples good principles. I've been gaming since 1988 but lately I feel like gaming has turned into a money powered monster with no remorse for the situation they create for gamers. They are biting the hand that feeds them. In the old days I had NO issues with DVD checks or typing in word 3 par 6 on p 54. I really miss those days...

I won't buy their games but if some guy walks up to me with a stack of pirated DVD's and I see Assasins Creed 2 I will propably play it. I'm human damnit.

Thats why I support Indy developers. Most of them don't bite. I just forked out $70 for Evochron legends. $25 for the game and the rest transfer rates and backing fees. But it's worth it because the guy is doing a terrific job and he has no hard-ass attitude about piracy.

My brother told me about this Indy dev who went to a forum (file-sharing propably) and in a friendly way asked the people to please support them because they would love to create future titles. He made a killing afterward because his attitude was right. I LOVE THAT :)

Anyway... I've written more than I wanted to and propably been too honest.

I do not think piracy is right but I think a lot of poeple are throwing out the baby with the bathwater.

Just want to say TERRIFIC MOD and THANK YOU!!! :p Me and my brother used to play BFE2 like there was no end and this mod really spices things up again.

I will post my one small issue at another thread....

EA Games no longer sell the game, which means they no longer lose profit from you torrenting it. Just torrent it, the mod will work.

Hello,I would like permission to use a few small things from this mod in my own. I am Val from Gamereplays, we do community patches(1.07 etc). Full credit applies of course! Mainly just wanted a few sounds/fx, not hugely interested in models. Thx

Also any idea what the Shield Bubble sound is? Cant find this linked to gandalf anywhere :/ His transform FX's gandalf beam etc only link to particle system which is not responsible for sounds, do they have an fxlist equivalent?

I don't think that it would suit the community patches, were they based on balance only?

You will probably need to wait a long while for Nazgul to appear on the forums. And this is not the right topic for it.

Is this the same community patch that Thorongil is working on? He's working on 1.06, so I'm guessing this is one is a different one? At any rate, sounds\fx's does not affect balance Matt.

Thorongil does BFME1, I do BFME2. Only difference is I'm from Gamereplays, we did BFME1 1.03 & BFME2 1.05/6.

Theres only a few small things I would like permission for, their not really balance related at all, they just look cool. At any rate, its a good way to promote yourself/mod as we get a few hundred downloads per day of the bfme2 patch.

Just PM Nazgûl directly, that's your best way of receiving permission to use stuff.
