I have been thinking just that all along. The paladins themselves are suppose to be good. They just had an secretly evil leader, and corruption in the upper ranks. Other then that they are as holy as the best of them, so i agree this constant evil-ification of all of them is out of place.

Even when they are being bad they would not be openly bad. The only place where open evil among the paladins occurred was in Vayu's sanctum and other secret places. Otherwise even if they were somewhat bad(nowhere near as much as Vayu and stuff, who are evil not just bad), they would have some grand religious justification for their acts and see themselves as good.

I don't imagine they would be evil. You would get the occasional corrupt clergyman, and arrogant self-rightous types who like to push their weight around, and others whose fanaticism gets the best of them, but they aren't really evil. For the most part even these are not to numerous, most would be normal men (and women?) who have joined to do good, and other genuine 'good guys', who have no idea of the corruption up high in their ranks.

But they hate everyone's guts. Isn't that evil?
And we can explain their motives later, when we encounter a larger group of them.

No they don't. Think of what they do as a crusade. In this analogy the Paladins are the Christians and the Drow, Minotaur, Vyre and Deathknelf are the Muslims. It doesn't make them bad people, just part of an order with not the nicest aims, but they've grown up believing those aims to be just, so it doesn't bother them.

The reason the Paladin sect that attacked us at the start of Chapter Two is because the Dwarven smith(s) in that city were getting too productive, having relocated there due to a lack of business in their homeland. So human business started to suffer, and the Paladins were tipped off to them.

I decided to bring Astariel in now, and fill in the rest of her backstory later. I think that I may get around to the next part tomorrow. :thumbsdownsmiley:

Careful. This link is DANGEROUS. Do NOT click it. This one, however, is fine.

No worries about length, have you read mine? :thumbsdownsmiley: By the way, I very much approve of your avatar, Mike. Men In Tights is one of my favourite films ever. The really funny thing is that, when you watch Prince of Thieves, it's kinda difficult to tell which one's the spoof. And I'm sure Astariel will fit right in.

Mike, English is my first language, I just never payed attention to my English lessons and I'm homeschooled so my grammar is FTF, as for how Cassius talks I'll look into that and get it edited, hopefully now you all will understand my lack of grammar (I need to will fix that) and hopefully you'll live with it for now (I would hate it if someone died because I suck when it comes to grammar)

EDIT: Can some one give me a basic run down on the Furya race? I was hoping for more info on them but the Fury seem to not be talked about much

Oh cack, my bad man :p I apologize for that. I'm just used to the sort of thing due to this being a multinational board. Sorry mate :p

EDIT: And Vort, thanks :) I agree as well. Though have you seen this version? It isn't so much a spoof as the most historically-accurate retelling of the story that I've found yet. I strongly suggest that someone among us find a torrent :p

Taralom: I saw that thread but I was hoping more information, like a general appearance and what not, if allowed a second character I might make a Furya, if not then no problem and no complaints

I'd just like to break in there: I only allow second characters for people who have proven their writing skills up to the task and I feel will be active enough to maintain a solid contribution to the group with their higher percentage of our numbers. That's why it's currently only Athos and Mike with two characters. And me, but I'm in charge and it was kinda accidental anyway.

As regards the Furya, they are about seven feet tall (as a general rule), they have small malformed wings growing from their shoulders, like some sort of evolutionary accident, which allows gliding over short distances but not sustained flight. They have short talons instead of fingernails. (Think like Sabretooth's claws in the Wolverine film as a reference.) They are very thin, almost skeletal, but inhumanly strong regardless. Does that answer your questions?

Yeah, the Drow are hella-fast. Like, faster-than-the-average-Deathknelf, fast, IMO. Tom can probably take them

Yes. They are. Average deathknelf speed is pretty damn fast; those drow you described are indeed faster.

One thing to keep in mind for the future, though, is that there are various clans of Deathknleve with various magics associated with them. The Daggerweave clan is extra fast - faster than those Drow you described. The deathknelve also have their ability to focus to a point where their sense of time is slowed.

Tom is a part of the Daggerweave clan. And the Soulfyre clan. Not to mention he spent two ish decades studying Whisperblade Ebrion techniques under the Grand Master... He's a lot more proficient with his two swords (and his magics) than just about anything a Drow Gang in some city could throw at him :)

((This is mike having login issues..))

Indeed :thumbsupsmiley: I sort of forgot about all that (Tom's training 'n all). However, I feel like the average Drow is faster than the average Deathknelf - they just aren't as predominant due to the sunlight issues, etc :D so yeah Tom would definitely be able to fight them evenly, most likely coming out on top. Just felt like clearing that up there; thanks Copa. Hopefully you'll help out Rom and Morion with them, which should be some fun posts.

The Daggerweave clan is extra fast - faster than those Drow you described

of coarse, couldn't have him being outdone now could we? :crazed:
isn't enough thats he's an exceptional fighter with super fire attacks, he also has to have super speed to be faster then the guys whose are suppose to be fast :p

Also i don't remember it ever being the Drow melt/burn in bright light. Sure they certainly did not like brightness, and they would no doubt get quite sunburnt outside, but where did melting in the light come from?
(probably the same place the random super speed came from i guess )

Its just that that's quite a massive handicap for anyone who might want to play a Drow later on, to literally burn if any contact with light occurs, even if they are all covered with cloths except for their eyes, then their eyes would still burn(like the eyes of the drow in mikes post), unless they also walk around blindfolded.

still, good post none the less :) i don't mean to try and take away from that.

If the Drow cover up then light doesn't bother them particularly, but a burst of white-hot bright light like that would at least blind them temporarily, but probably not burn or melt them or anything. It's not so much a handicap as a preference.

And Tom's abilities have been clearly documented before (see the Tome of Librera), so I have no problem with it.

Come on now guys, get posting and get your personal time sorted. We have revelations to uncover!

Yeah, prolonged activity in natural light isn't very comfortable, but can be survived. Having a small star erupt into existence right above you is almost lethal :crazed:

And I'll start posting as soon as my stupid login errors are fixed, Vort. Sorry /:
