If you like that one, grab Master of Puppets and the Justice album.

Great song right here.

still only connect that song to the nightwish version. I won't say that its better than the other one but its the one I got the most connection to

Anyway, came here to show off some norwegian heavy-rock/metal band that has been quite popular this summer. "Kvelertak"(Chokehold) with "mjød"(mead).

hehe, not much to be understood even by a norwegian, but the "Odin ga oss; det skjønneste mjød-" can easily be heard. "odin gave us; the (most)beautiful mead". which really explains the song and the music video imo :good:

Eluveitie = awesome. This, my friends, is what we in the know call a bangin' choon.

You guys may have heard of Chris Corner. He came up with the tracks behind the French Airforce move "Le Chevaliers Du Ciel" or "Knights of the Sky".

Brilliant film, brilliant music, brilliant composer :p

EDITED BY VORTIGERN. Guys, you only put the video tag reference number thingy in the [ youtube ] tags, otherwise it comes up as a white square. I'm sure I and others have explained this before.
They say the future is only as predictable as the past..... Probably because they're the same thing.

Good old dream theater. I do love the intro on this song, although the rest is pretty much a summary of different DT-songs. Though I guess it's a part of their sub-series of songs within a theme. I can't recall what they called it but one song for every album for like 5-7 albums were hooked together in this way.

and now for something a bit cooler. Been looking around for contemporary composers that use modern and classical instruments at the same time. Ludovico is one of them, and here we have one of his more fancy songs.

I love Ludovico! On the Revorian Music Thread, I posted one (or a couple). Oltremare is my favourite.

Need more music of this sort. Arvo Pärt is another guy that does this sort of stuff, but he has more church-choirs and the likes. Here's the top hit on youtube from him.

okay I guess, but its quite classical and not very contemporary imo. I mostly replied to get a thread bumped up in here for now :p

might aswell add some fancy Star One from Arjen to balance this mellow part out a bit. Here's the two first songs from his newest album, victims of the modern age. the songs are directly inspired by different fictions where earth has gone down the drain, the matrix is probably the inspiration for the first one here, and i know we got firefly in another song.

I just love the intro on the harder part here, very fine.

Pineapple thief is cool, got that porcupine style on their stuff but still different, found this song today and I love the intro.

Ten and a half minutes of awesome proggy symphonic messing around with an orchestra. Anyway, the entire new album, Sitra Ahra, is excellent. I strongly recommend it to people with similar music taste to me. You know who you are.

Been a while since I've heard any Therion. We'll see what this album sounds like.

Found some Old industrial (through Sisters Grimm/Free Mars webcomic) that must have been a big influence on Frank when he made the original CnC soundtrack.

I only got hold of their new album a couple of days ago, and I've listened to nothing else since, and it's been stuck in my head during the times I've not had my laptop to hand. To me, that's the sign of a good album. I actually wrote this post while whistling the refrain from track 7 (I'm watching the football, which is why I'm not listening to it properly. Denmark are letting you Scandinavians down). Anyway, here is said track:

Jeff Buckley is my favourite singer, and comes very close to being my favourite guitarist. I discovered this song by him today, thought I'd share for those who like his music.

Not a bad song. Not something I usually listen to, reminds me partially of faith no more for some reason.

Anyway, awesome silly song coming up. good arguments for having beards in this one :good:

Buddy of mine found out that the soundtrack for the Anime "Fairy Tail" is actually quite good. At least for those which enjoy symphonic metal kinda stuff. It really is way beyond anything I've expected to hear from Japanese musicians...

Now I might have to check this series out as well, bleh. It looks a bit too much like one piece imo, but it seems to have something going for it.

Hey, who remembers the 90s? If you're British and roughly my age, I have no doubt that you will fondly remember this absolute gem:
