Alright, there have been some ideas floating around on two different other so I decided to just make one to keep things organized.

Basically, the idea is to add an undead faction to BFME (1, 2 or RotWK idk) probably centered around the necromancer of Dol Guldur (AKA Sauron.)

It's really more like Saurons "ideal" army, if he hadn't been run out by the White Council so soon.

Ideas for units have been Smaug, risen from the lake, and risen soldiers from other nearby battles. Orcs, Numenorians and Elves, probably. Also, Nazgul as heroes.

Spellbook abilities? What do they do? (I guess Ghastly Chant would be war chant. I'll change that in my wip tech tree.)

For upgrades, I'm thinking doing something a little different. I have Touch of the Dead (Horde Poison Damage (melee and ranged)), Perfected Necromancy (Horde Health Increase), and Bloodlust (Horde Speed Increase) which are researched at the "Dark Sanctum"

It's in WiP, but this is what I have:

Dol Guldur

Heroes
Khamul
-No Fellbeasts
-Horse/Foot Toggle
-Morgul Blade
-Chief of Dol Guldur
Nazgul
Nazgul
Nazgul
Fortress Hero: Risen Smaug
Ring Hero: The Necromancer (Sauron with new powers)

Units
Risen Orc Laborers
Risen Orc Warriors
-Basic Weak Warriors
Risen Orc Archers
-Basic Weak Archers
Risen Orc Spearmen
-Basic Weak Spearmen
Risen Numenorians
-Stronger Warriors
Risen Elves
-Sword/Bow Toggle Archer/Warrior
-Stronger Warriors/Elite Archers
Risen Troll
-Cave Troll/Mountain Troll build
-Undead Troll
Catapult
-Mordor Catapult+ undead orcs
Battering Ram
-Mordor Battering Ram+ undead orcs

Structures
Carnage Den
Lumber Mill
-Trains Risen Orc Laborers
Necromancy Pit
- Trains Risen Orc Warriors (Requires Orc Specialization) Risen Orc Archers (Requires Orc Specialization) Risen Orc Spearmen (Requires Orc Specialization) Risen Numenorians (Requires Men Specialization) Risen Elves (Requires Elven Specialization) Risen Troll (requires Troll Specialization)
Battle Tower
Necromancer Statue
Siege Works
-Trains Catapult, Battering Ram
Dark Sanctum
-Upgrades Touch of the Dead (Horde Poison Damage (melee and ranged)), Perfected Corpses (Horde Health Increase), Something Else (Horde Speed Increase)
Dungeon (Not sure what this building is more but I think they need another structure. Or a dungeon could be a fortress upgrade or expansion)
Fortress

Spellbook
?(5)
Ghastly Chant (5)
-War Chant
Plague (5)
-Disable Resource Structure
Tainted Land(10)
Summon Goblins(10)
Scavenger(10)
Summon Wargs(10)
Darkness(15)
?(15)
?(15)
?(25)
?(25)

It's modeled for BFME2, without RotWK, but wouldn't take much to change it (might make the spellbook easier)

If BFME1, a spellbook could be:

Ghastly Chant (1)
Plague (1)
Tainted Land(3)
Summon Goblins(4)
Scavenger(4)
?(6-7)
Darkness(6)
?(10-20)

Not sure where your might of the necromancer would go, as I don't know how powerful it is.

I was thinking they wouldn't have banner carriers, but would always revive units from level one (which would have up for a lack of upgrades and things.)

To much "Risen" names. :p
Use "Spectral", "Death", "Resurrected", "Skeletal", "Infernal", "Damned", or "Ghoulish" :D

Spectral = Ghost-like
Death = wears Black
Resurrected = Missing pieces of flesh
Skeletal = Has no flesh once or ever, just get the skeleton animation and get rid of the flesh
Infernal = Wears crimson red and jet black
Damned = has two black weapons
Ghoulish = Has skin, but is ugly and is a weird shadow of grey or blue

That's just a marker to signify undead units. It's easy to change the name they're displayed as at any point in the process of a mos, so it doesn't matter.

For instance, we have "Mordor" in front of all the mordor units, but when you actually play the game, it just says "Orc Warriors" or whatever.

I was thinking the second power for the Necromancer could be an AoE version of Morgul blade, where they are poisoned and turn into undead on your side after they die.

I don't really like the term Dracolich... No liches or any mention of "draco" afaik.

Who are those other wraiths? I've never even heard of them (except Morgramir, who is of course EA's fake wraith.)

No, they're the names of wraiths from some early middle-earth RPG.

I really don't do requests and my Arnor Soldier is not fit for BFME. Don't ask me for either.

I put some thought into this, and came up with some stuff. :) So here:

*Ungoliant, all spiders of Middle-Earth were descended from her, and was an ally of the first Dark Lord Melkor/Morgoth. Her most infamous daughter is hands-down, Shelob.

Upgrades:

Armor of the Fallen
- Armor Upgrade

Blood of Ungoliant*
- Spider/ special calvary upgrade, adds greater damage & health to Spiders

Diseased Arrows
- Arrow Upgrade, does slight poison damage over time

Tattered Banner
- Banner Carrier upgrade

Vampiric Steel
- Sword Upgrade, sucks enemy's health and gives it to the battalion

Soldiers:

Fallen Orc Warrior
Weak in the armor department, but makes up in it with damage. With moderate speed, these should be deployed early in the game to cover the map or destroy weak monster lairs.
Cost: 175 / Available Upgrades: Tattered Banner

Fallen Orc Skirmisher
Like their melee brethren, these have weak armor. The Skirmishers run slightly faster than the warrior but have less armor. It would be better only to use them to pick off small amounts of enemies.
Cost: 225 / Available Upgrades: Diseased Arrows, Tattered Banner

Skeletal Vanguard
Like other factions, its best to only employ these bad boys. They have increased armor, health, and damage; perfect for global brawls. Plus, because they have more access to upgrades, making them far more deadlier than Fallen Orcs.
Cost: 350 / Available Upgrades: Armor of the Fallen, Tattered Banner, Vampiric Steel

Mirkwood Spiders
Undead are not the only things at the Necromancer's disposal, these eight-legged terror can cover the map jet-fast. Buying the Blood of Ungoliant upgrade can make them into a dependable fighting force.
Cost: 280 / Available Upgrades: Blood of Ungoliant, Tattered Banner

The undead faction sound cool! but, in my opinion, try not to make too much warcraft lich king style elements.
Tell me if you need any help (I can be good with the 2D, buttons, so on or I could think in some ideas for you)
Would be much to ask in return if I could maybe use some of the models and stuff in my mood? I would like to add a Vampire Counts Factions
to my mod :)
thak you!!

PM me if you wish!

Would be a nice faction :D
Someone remember The War of the Ring RTS from Liquid Entertainment? In that game you had wraiths, and they had a pretty animation and FX with the smoke around them...
Check out my wraith palantír image on T3A download section :p the unit looks like that...
The idea of a undead faction really appeals, but then again, if you have like three-hundred zombie/ghosts ingame would that be funny to play with? I mean, a ghost is a ghost...
But the idea is pretty cool :D
Dragonzilla, you've got some pretty good ideas ;)
