Like no doubt others before me, I visited this topic expecting to have some fun reading about how a newbie was trying to do the impossible.
And well, I can't say anything other than that I am very surprised this actually looks to have a decent chance of being completed.

Good luck,
Solinx

BTW. I don't really understand the comments on stealing stuff. I take it there has been a topic split?

End of the week for a Tech Tree? It's only Tuesday. It shouldn't take that long to come up with a Tech Tree for 2 factions.

Well, in a lot of cases quality gets better if you take more time to do something. A very easy example is writing. If you write slowly, you will get a neater handwriting. Are you in a rush, and write more quickly, well, you get the opposite effect.

Well, yeah, it should. It defines a large part of the gameplay and in a real game design team it would probably take weeks or months to make.

IMO, Don't make it TOO unique, or else it will become unappealing to many people.

Well, yeah, it should. It defines a large part of the gameplay and in a real game design team it would probably take weeks or months to make.

We are making tech tree with describing all units, heroes and powers.Aslo we are working on a new formations for units.I think if we want to change the gameplay,we should try to add some new and interesting features.I'll show you only hero-units list(maybe list of powers) without arts.Yes,to all units we'll creat a new art(and for hero too).
In addition to this i want to say that we'll have 3 ranks of units. Each rank will be unique and will have some special functions. It'll be something new in game play and balance.
Kwen, what can i say....what can i say...We'll try to bring to factions a lot of new things.Gondor will be changed, but not a lot.And Mordor...it'll be a new faction.Mumaks and haradrims(oh and easterlings)will be deleted. We are planing to add magician units(Dark Numenorians, like MoS) with unique special powers. Also there'll be new siege weapons like: Grond and Onager of Osgiliath.
Oh...i shouldn't tell you so much info :p

I think that Magicians are a bad idea, but I'll wait to see how you use them to decide.

Is your concept artist (Kabu) a professional artist? That artwork reminds me of a lot of work you see in the LotR DVDs and concept work books. Excellent work.
