Ok, how do you want the map to play out? Currently i'm starting with a group of orc soldiers fighting for their lives against a Lorien strike force. I plan on having the main army arrive directly afterwards. I'm just having trouble thinking how i would give the player reinforcements without making it look tacky.

Necromance the crap out of them?

No, really, that would be too hard to code and stuff. However, what you could do is place that attack outside the fortress and give control of all orcs and possible heroes in the fortress the moment the orcs approach with the news of an attack.

is this a good idea? Or do you want something else?

hmm. I was thinking of some kind of stealth mission that suddenly erupts into full-scale warfare, since the army would be outside the fortress and the map to give the builders more room to work. (of course, to make it easier on the players, they will have some kind of advantage)

A list of ideas that i came up with:

CINE Intro: A small group of orc guards is routed by a strike force of Lorien soldiers.
first objective: The strike team moves into the fortress, and a sets up patrol groups. The goal is to slip past these patrol groups and capture a signal fire. This will start a timer to summon reinforcements.

Second Objective: Hold out against the patrols (which come one at a time) until reinforcements arrive.

Third Objective: Bring your army into the fortress and clear it of elves. Fortify the Fortress

Fourth Objective: Defend the fortress against an army of elves and clear the surround land.

CINE ending: A messenger ride up with news that the ring just might be found in the river running through Gladden Fields

That's a great idea, isn't it?
Can't see what's wrong with it.
