Also Elrond and Saruman are going to need a good load of fire on a stick

I don't understand the point of spoiling all of that when you're already sold on seeing the movie.

I like how the Goblin Town orcs are in FULL sunlight here whereas it was sunlight that saved Thorin & co. from them back in AUJ.
While I agree that you have a point. Im sure fear of sauron might motivate them to do things they really fucking hate... like going for a stroll in the sun. Its pretty clear to me that the battle of the 5 armies is being driven not by revenge against the dwarves for killing the goblin king as in the book, but by sauron who has a greater purpose.

Then why did Sauron send out dark clouds from Mordor to cover the armies attacking Minas Tirith? He did that in the film, too (even if that fact seems to be forgotten after the first day of the siege).

What Bofur said. It probably was to move them along quicker. Sauron must have been in a hurry.

I'm quite sure that in the book they were covered by clouds and bats.

I would have seen the trilogy screening on monday here if it weren't for the fact that school goes till next friday for me.

I'm only going because I don't have to pay. The last two movies disappointed me so much, bribery was quite literally the only way to get me to see this.

I don't want to pay for this either. I decided I didn't want to go, but my girlfriend seems to want to go anyway.
And she's got a coupon for a free ticket.
I might see it.
But I will still be mad.

You should reverse clap when the credits start rolling.

Explain this reverse clapping.

Clapping with the back of your hands while sighing loudly. Or lighting up a cigarette sarcastically in substitute for a sigh.

Meh. The hype train I had for The Hobbit derailed after seeing the first DoS trailer.

You know... I haven't liked a movie since all this 3D nonsense started coming out. I legitimately predicted 3D would ruin movies, and I honestly believe that prediction came true. People like Jackson are just putting so much effort into planning their visuals, that they forget that the writing is 10,000 times more important. Or something like that, because movies just suck now-days, and it all coincides with the coming of digital 3D.

If you can't make it good make it 3d. =D
But yes, I'm there for the visuals, I'm only going to cry myself to sleep if I think that things are going to happen the way they I believe they should.
