Some of the 2D is.
If you say that the skins/models are copyright then that means that a lot of mods are copyright in a way:
People edit models
People edit skins
EA don't have a license so that doesn't matter.
In the case of War in the North, we'll remove them

Theres always the "Fair use" grey zone, but yeah, i think thats a copyright break since the early beginning's.. u see.. even use the names in the lore and another stuff can be
a copyright break =D
And afterwards, in case of the art stuff, its even more filled with references and cultures and inspirations.. in the end, is a constant change of what already exists =)
But, its all for fun and LOTR love, for we all =D heheh

here as team isnt to make people believe we're awsome artists or genious coders.. i think the
idea is to create a good mod, with graphic and coding standarts of the EA vanilla and the great
mods we have out there.
If the forum is agaisnt this kind of picture or it don't fits on your bookrules,
then for sure we will adapt it .=)
For the end, i think that we dont plan or want to break any laws, but yes, produce a cool mod. =)
And yes.. I've spent like 36h doing a 4096 X 4096 texture for a elvenwood, based on the vanilla EA
texture. every line was remade, restyled, much has been changed itself.
That makes the texture mine? well, the law says no.
So.. theres no point on claiming "whos work on who".
Just be clear, honest and make a good job =)

To what Phil pointed out; I think it's a 'new-kid, awesome buttons, must be stolen' issue.
For the buttons you've made luh, you've done a damn good job, more than most care to put such an effort into. They all looks awesome, so I think that's why some start to question your work. Also because you seemed to come of as a "I've done all of this myself" kinda guy in the start, but you've never claimed to make all the buttons from scratch, so I don't see the issue.
Continue doing awesome stuff

but i still like the idea of giving them some skin... =) So, heavy armor for him =D
About the face mask, saw some great models around that uses that idea,, and gah.. its too tempting to slip it over, mostly in a stealth unit =D

Have you considered instead of making them all brown, to create a second, brownish texture for them which you can then vary between?
Hmmm, thats a interesting idea, indeed! But should i variate the hair color too? i mean, i saw some ppl doing it, but mostly for the stealth, its a bit much of constrast, thus is very lorish and accurate =)
But nice idea indeed, i suppose i will take to Photoshop again^^ Sad thing, i got inspired to draw some athenians last week, saw 300 and such... hehehe

Second concept. Third coming. And fourth. =D
Updated^^
U see, i can be crazy, but looks like the UWV used the hair texture (or a mini part of it) to draw the arrows in the quilver.. same thing for the belt n' bow.. =D
funny hehe
