and it is possible that Dominator happened to be the lead ship in the class
oh, not entirely related, but heres a short wishlist for some ships for the future
rebels/new republic
yard 1- the recon variant of the X-wing. weaker shields, no torpedoes, and less powerful engines, but it makes up for those by having a larger sensor radius (visual radius), sensor jammers like the A-wing, as well as somehow a lower sensor profile (missiles have to be closer to achieve lock, or perhaps a flare launcher, realistically this could be achieved by sensor absorbing materials, kinda like the radar absorbent materials on the F-117A Nighthawk.) and when destroyed, has a small blast radius with a chance to damage/destroy enemies in close proximity
Defender class Short Range Starfighter. cheep, quick to build, either matches the standard TIE Fighter in most respects, exceeds in a few areas even. maneuverability would be at least that of a TIE Interceptor. for balance, you could have it be level one, which is possible and wouldnt destroy canon, as early versions were used in the Droids cartoon
yard 2: Bantha class assault transport as seen in the Rogue Squadron comics. im thinking those 2 light quad turbolasers would be useful. for the rest, i figure take most of the stats of a Sentinel Class Transport, but upgraded. Missiles and other weapons are optional.
i know yard 3 produces the quasar fire bulk cruiser, but i was thinking of a large freighter with better stats than that of the MCF series, like a Mobquet transport.
oh, and maybe the Agave or Warrior class picket or gunship, respectively
yard 3:Corona class to replace the Sacheen. its more of a direct replacement to the EF-series compared to the Sacheen. or it could replace the CC-9600 series, which some feel is overpowered. compliment being a squad each of A, B, and E-wings.
Yard 4: MC-90 as a successor to the MC-80 and Republic class Star Destroyer. as explained in another thread, its got some more firepower than the Republic, what with the torpedo tubes, as well as having twice the fighters, yet almost the same size, 1255 meters compared to 1250
nothing for station 5, Viscount is too strong even compared to Executor, and i cant really think of anything else in that size range
ill get to the imps later, but its 4am here and ive got class at 8
for the imps, well, they concentrate their resources on larger ship projects, and theres not many larger ships id add
yard 1: a TIE Vanguard or some other type of TIE with a recon capacity, to mirror the recon X-wing
the A-9 Vigilance. good hit and run craft.
I-7 Howlrunner
not gonna bother with the TIE experimental series from X-wing Alliance
yard 2:
either an Assassin class Corvette or a Night Caller/ Far Star sub-type of Corvette
i know its large, but perhaps a Star Galleon
yard 3: Vindicator class Cruiser. its the ship the Immobilizer-418 is based off of.
yard 4: the Allegiance class of Super Star Destroyers, or as the great Ansel Hsaio described it, the Heavy Star Destroyer

Vindicator class Cruiser
OH! PLEASE DO THIS ONE!
If it's hard then it's worth doing.

i mean hell, they designed the Republic class Star Destroyer to take on the Imperial class, and the ISD's are a good deal larger than the RSD's. i think there was a 350 meter difference in length.
granted the designers and shipyards that produced the Republic had better tech and construction methods. but it seems like the NR favors efficient designs as opposed to brute force
the Mon Remonda and MC90 are perfect additions i think

at least with the Mon Cal ships, they all typically follow the same type of design, organic appearance and all.
recon-X is pretty much an X-wing with some extra sensor mods on it, but for the low quality models, you could probably get away with the same basic X-wing model
i think there was a TIE that was basically a normal TIE pod with some grated surfaces and a reduction to a single cannon
you already made an A-9 model, so thats not that big of a problem
Vindicator=remove the GWPs from the Immobilizer and their pods.
i think Allegiance is pretty much an enlarged Tector

i wouldnt add the Mediator or Viscount, as the "Biggest damn ship possible" design philosophy is more the Empire's bag.
My suggestion is more of a balance point. As is, the NR basically can't kill the Empire's Star Dreadnoughts. Has anyone here ever destroyed an enemy Star Dreadnought? I certainly haven't and don't even see any reasonable strategy to do so should I find myself in a situation where I have to do so (Haven't played OSH on NR side due to my computer not being good enough).

took the combined firepower of Rebel Dream (those Octouple guns are awesome), the Bail Organa (the Dominator class), guns from a Golan 3, 10 maxed out Assault Frigates and a ground based Ion Cannon
yeah, dont know why the AI does this, but often times itll attack me with 1-4 Praetors, 4 or 5 Venators of various upgrades, and 1-3 Imperial 1's
im about to build some interdictors to keep all the forces in system and slaughter them piecemeal
Oh, I didn't mean Praetors and Independences and Bulwarks. I've killed plenty of those too. I mean Executor and Soverign class ships. Sorry about the miscommunication.

Also killed 3 executors (two in 1.1) the trick is to use lots of bombers and then hyperspace in ships right on top of it in its blind spot and have them pour fire into it. I Personally used a horde of K-wings to drain hull and shields and dropped ~10 MC80 reef homes right on top of it during the battle, their proton rockets do serious damage.

<DevXen> Today I was at the store and saw a Darth Vader action figure that said "Choking Hazard." It was great.
