:w00t: Well the torrent is now up :w00t:

(it is in the .zip file because the forums do not allow the .torrent extension)
Please SEED everybody, this only works well if we have many seeders!

for the non torrent savvy about: download utorrent and use it to open the file, it may seem scary at first but it is quite easy in reality

Have at it everyone :smile2ap:

Yeah did that.. fuck torrents until the companies that create them can create the fucking shit MALWARE FREE !!!! Now my malware service is going crazy since installing that utorrent shit.

Really stupid damn idea, but i guess you don't care about infecting other players computers, now do you??

there is no malware in utorrent, or in the seeded file, no one else has had any problems, you're probably using a shitty antivirus like norton or mcaffe. Trust me if I had wanted to 'infect' your computer I would have compiled a rootkit into the pr installer before I seeded it out, but i didn't. If anyone is suspicious then just wait for the Moddb admins to clear the file for you. Any PR testers that have access to the original installer can compare that one and the one in the torrent, they are identical and there is no malware.

Getting the same crash described by several others, the one that occurs a few seconds into the second loading screen. I grabbed the text from the exception txt file generated:

Exception in thread 1840 - Main Thread
Exception code EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access.
Attempt to read from address 00000018

Exception occurred at 4FE900CB - Unknown code pointer

I was running as administrator, made sure the target and start fields on the shorcut point towards the modpath and swfoc.exe respectively. Any help would be much appreciated.

For Steam users, here's a helpful video showing you exactly what you need to change in Steam to make the mod work. You can ignore the mod install section, but you might want to check and make sure the v1.2 install is in the right folder: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k07py7tGQqg

For everyone else experiencing crashes, make sure that:

1) the mod is installed fully (it should be 1GB installed) and in the correct folder. The correct folder depends on your FoC version. The installer should have worked automatically, but search for swfoc.exe and make sure that there is a folder called Mods in the swfoc.exe folder, and that Phoenix Rising v1.2 is installed inside that folder.

2) the shortcut provided by the installer has the correct Target and Start in fields set (right click on the shortcut and choose "properties" to see this info). The paths shown in Target should lead to swfoc.exe, and the Start in path should lead to the folder that swfoc.exe is in.

Example for Windows 7 64 bit retail version (not gold pack or steam):

Target: "C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption\swfoc.exe" MODPATH=Mods\Phoenix_Rising_v1.2
Start in: "C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption"

If you are experiencing a crash before the main menu map loads (when Loading... displays in blue in the corner) I can't provide a solution at this time because I haven't experienced the bug. Please tell us what version of FoC and Windows you're running so we can diagnose the issue better.

It looks like even if you don't have Republic at War installed you might have to delete the XML folders anyway. I was having crashes on the loading screen and I deleted those folders and it loaded properly.

I'm running standard, disk-installed foc, Windows 7 Home Premium.

@Thrawn88 Which XML folders? I'd like to give this a try.

Thanks for that info!

If you're experiencing a crash on the loading screen, make sure you delete any XML folders in the Data folder! (Data is in the same folder as swfoc.exe)

I can verify that this works and is almost certainly due to the 64-bit patch Lucasarts released for FoC. This patch is not needed for PR because it is included in the mod, and the way it works currently conflicts and causes a crash at startup.

Have you installed the updates?

My mod works with EAW update 1,1 and FOC update 1.5

Just to clarify, is this the Data for the base FOC folder, or the Data for the PR 1.2 folder?

Data for base FoC. It is in the same location as swfoc.exe. Don't delete anything in the PR 1.2 folder!

Deleting the XML folder from that Data folder did nothing to help. Instead I don't even get to the logo screen before the crash happens (previously the crash occurred on the "Loading" screen).

It's an exception again and the text for it is:

Exception in thread 221C - Main Thread
Exception code EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access.
Attempt to read from address 00000018

Exception occurred at 0091D7FE - Unknown code pointer

Stack walk:

EFlags:00010212
CS:0023 SS:002b DS:002b ES:002b FS:0053 GS:002b

The target field and start-in field are all correct, my swfoc.exe is in the right place, and I run the shortcut as an administrator so I don't know what the issue is. Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit. The Gold Pack is updated (otherwise 1.1 wouldn't have worked!) fully.

PR, you were right. It was just a long loading time that I thought was it freezing. The Thrawn Campaign is much better now.

Sorry guys, I'd love to be able to fix that but I've only been able to reproduce such crashes with either an incorrect shortcut or non-vanilla files in the FoC data folder. All I can suggest right now is doing clean installs of EaW and FoC, patch them, and finally install the mod.

How long is the wait time for the main screen to load? I have it running after a fresh install of EAW and FOC (both updated) and it didn't load the main screen after about 20 minutes. :/

It's benchmarked on the previous news post. 2 minutes.

Well the modpath for the shortcut is correct, and it loads fine, it just never reaches the main screen. I have it in the "mods" folder of FOC, and everything is updated, and the only changes I made was to install PR to the "mods" folder. Did I miss something?

You should've installed it to the base FoC folder? The one with swfoc.exe.
