This mod is great! It was worth the wait! Just one question though... Is it normal for the AI to attack one of my worlds within the first 4 weeks? I am empire playing core worlds, medium difficulty and I am getting hit by 3+ capitals and many fighters and destroyers/cruisers in week 3 or 4. I am not quite sure how I am supposed to counter that attack so early. Any ideas?

I would suggest building a planetary turbo laser on all your planets to begin with, then use the remaining build locations for mining facility's, then build as many fighters and bombers as you can until you can research/build bigger ships and carrier ships.

I found with a planetary turbo laser and the stations you start with you can hold off quite a large invading force.

That's what I did playing Empire/Core Worlds.

Oh, and get researching better fighters/bombers quick at Courlag, it's cheaper there and you only need one or two levels before you out perform them for a bit.

Yea. I just tried the game again. Got hit with 2 Invincible Dreadnoughts, 2 Liberty class, 1 Reef Home, several cruisers and destroyers all in one attack in the first few weeks. The most powerful ship I have is 1 Victory 1 at Coruscant. This hit was at Corulag, where my strongest ships are basically either Dreadnaught class or Acclimator. The Golans are useless because the enemy ships can just sit back and destroy everything else, and the golan guns wont drop the shields even with constant power to weapons. I don't even have the time to build up strong enough defenses. I was able to wipe out the fighters and bombers with the wave of fighters I made in the first weeks, but this is kind of crazy. Isn't a turbolaser for ground defense?

There's two types of turbo lasers, one is for ground defence and the other acts like the hyper velocity cannon from vanilla FoC.

Do you change the starting tech level/money? If it's set to the default they shouldn't be able to build anything to nasty that fast...

If all else fails, you could always set it to easy until you build up a bit of defence then switch to medium.

The space station placement is one thing that bugs me, the Golans are usually at the far back behind all the defenseless stations. I don't know if they can really program station placement or what but its a little thing that bugs me.

NOT that I'm trying to pick apart their work! ;)

I have not changed the starting level that I know of. I didn't change any of the advanced settings. I will try the new hypervelocity cannon, that should help. I don't want to play on easy, as I used to crush the 1.0 and 1.1 just fine. I just don't think it seems right for the alliance to have such ships. Also, in the game before, they attacked with Venators! I guess they get some left over Republic tech as well...

Yeah Ghost gave the AI a number of capital ships to make GC a little more difficult. It's part of the campaign design, so I'll let him weigh in on his decisions.

I just wanted to make sure this was normal, ahah! It adds a nice challenge I guess. At least it is not like it was way back, when they would spawn several MC-120s... lol!

Yeah. The AI can't replace the ships until they research them, so if you manage to wipe out their capitals you can usually strike back effectively.

It is pretty cool, story wise. I could see the early alliance trying to attack the empire ASAP as a kind of last chance effort to cripple the empire before they start to rebuild and tech up. They got their hands on some nice stuff! The only real challenge is that it is hard to take out 3+ capitals when they stay back from the golans and the rest of my fleet is made up of cruisers or worse. A very good challenge though. I feel like such a noob right now...

You might feel bad about it, but I strongly recommend use of combat transports like Skiprays. They're very effective.

Try hitting the other side early. It slows the AI down....

If i correctly understand you, it is a glitch. To avoid it you must periodically (once an hour for example) exit the game (to windows) and start it again.
And do not try to save game after a glitch appears - quickly exit the game!!! If you try you will lose every saves you try!!!

Glad you could get it downloaded! It's odd that people are having issues with filefront.

There already are several threads started about this particular issue, as well as discussion on it earlier in this thread. I think evilbob has already addressed this about 5 seperate times already, so you should look either earlier in this thread or in the bug report thread instead of making them type all their suggestions out again. I'm sure they'd appreciate it. But essentially, try finding the data folder of Forces of Corruption and delete any XML or Script folders out of it to start.
