I guess fiber mesh is more useful for display purposes. I'm gonna have to do serious re-topology for all my models anyway and fiber mesh hair is probably a gazillion polys alone. I'm quite impressed by TopopGun's ability to reduce poly count while maintaining the overall structure of the details in the mesh, and I wonder if ZBrush topology brush can do the same thing. We'll see... =)

Hehe thanks guys... Finally I have a client that I can operate and understand. Work flow is not that much different from when I sculpt IRL in real clay =)

Hey y'all... There is no real excuse for my lack of presence... but there are explanations - same as usual (IRL), so I won't get into boring details about my life other than that IRL can really smother you from time to time. I really miss T3A, modding and the community in general. I've stayed away mostly cause I know that coming back, will drag me in again, and I really haven't had time or motivation for a long time (again). Anwayways... I'm not "dead" and neither the mod. So, just as a sign of life I thought I should drop by and flaunt some progress =) Can't make any promises about the future, other than the same ambition I always had - never to give, no matter how many years pass by. So, for whoever might care, this is what I'm doing now: trying to master texturing in ZBrush.
I'm happy with the actual texturing. Now I "only" need to figure out how to get the UV mapping as good as possible, so I can export the texture, reduce the poly count with proper topology and convert the models to the right format Anyways, there is still some life in SEE.

Yay! Nazgul! NJM and I have been busy with the mapping side of things. So SEE has definitely been making progress even when you are unable to.
If it gets too much to export it then I guess we could always try to remake a lower poly from scratch and use the textures and bump maps from this model (I could try to do it if you don't want to).

Naz, have you used the UV Master plugin?

Yes, but it doesnt handle the mapping that good as it sort of, "splashes" the model in unpredicable ways. I am trying to learn how to master another program called Headus UVLayout Pro for this as it seems to give fenomenal control of the desired UV mapping. But before that, I must master the intricate way of scaling this 1,8 million poly head down to about 2k polys zRemesher is great, but the problem is that it seems to want to keep poly count unnescessary high in rather flat areas. But I will get there... If only I can control the whole process of modeling, it will be much quicker to fix remaining models for this and other factions... Just too bad IRL is taking a sh*t load of my time these days, ever since last summer when my boss decided to shorten my hors and expand the number of working days =/ But, the desire to go on is growing, so hopefully I can excellerate into a new spree this spring and summer =)
MtLM & NJM, and really happy you guys haven't given up on me/SEE yet, despite my absense
PS, it seems that my old image-server is down, so all previous images in this thread is gone?
