Thanks =) Yeah motivation is our biggest enemy as it comes and goes - sometimes for months. Mostly due to IRL in combination with modding problems. But, at least now I know all the steps on how to produce a model and I hope this will give me a new spree..

That guy has some character! Good job

For if a question be in itself incongruous and begs for uncalled-for answers, it holds, sometimes, besides embarrassing the proposer, the disadvantage to seduce the unguarded listener into giving absurd answers, and we are presented with the ridiculous spectacle of one (as the ancients said) milking the he-goat, and the other holding a sieve beneath."

Looks great! Though I think it should be a bit darker and less saturated. I know it's rusty, but it's very mono toned.

Yeah saturation is strong, that's cause of the reflective metal material in Zb. I will desature in Photoshop as well once it's UV mapped and all =)
Here's the helmet combined with the head. Together I hope to keep topology under 1500 polys..

The fact that this is +Conquest standard modelling really makes a show of EA. I love it.

Thanks bud =) About the colors.... I checked in my mobile and DANG the saturation was over the top. In my laptop its much better. But yeah, I will desaturate the rust colors once it's mapped, this weekend. I might have to try TopoGun for this though as it might require manual topology to really lower the count to a minimum for all those fangs and stuff.

Thanks guys, glad you all approve. I wish I could model the way you do, in game adapted low poly that still looks the bomb, but this is unfortionately the only way I can master some modeling. It's great fun, but time consuming and tricky indeed to lower poly count. But I'll get there...
Lauri, I agree... the level of rust is over the top. I'll adjust that =)

If you can go through all this, you *can* model like 'we' do. Trust me, it isn't that hard, will save you a ton of time, and you'll be independent (ie. you won't need RG to help).

Ghehe aye that be true, not that I don't like helping, but being able to do something all alone feels even better then needing someone to help you But you'll get there, all in good time

Thanks guys, but no... I won't work in other 3d applications, as I've tried that sooo many times. The work flow is nothing like in ZBrush, unfortionately. This is "easy" once you find he most essential tools, as it's fairly close to natural modeling in clay, and it's great fun =) I know my models are a gazillion polys too many, but I rather work on retopology with those, then trying to master the "low poly from the get go" method. And one of these days I might get a 3D printer, so I'd love to print these models as maquettes some day
Just started experimenting with the textures for Great Goblin...
Maybe I should ditch the open mouth though...

I couldn't get the texture projection to fully match the model, so I decided to try direct polypainting with individual colors instead... WiP. Mouth will be closed for low poly version =)
