You shouldn't install two different mods in the same dir, because mods can interfere with each other. I played a lot of mods and I do things like this: I have a clean RA2 folder and I copy that folder if I want to install a mod.

I suggest to reinstall the entire RA2 if you don't have a backup folder and then create 2 separate folders for each mod. I think it will fix the issue.

Well it didn't because i already tried it 3 times today.I tried only installing MO3 2 times didn't work, then reinstalling RA2 and RA2:YR and tried still didn't work. Then i reinstalled it again and tried with MO2 and still nothing ...

So you removed both MO2 and MO3 and reinstalled RA2 and then installed MO3 to that dir and it still doesn't work? Does it give some sort of error message.

That's the thing it doesn't give any sort of error at all.As i said earlier MO3 installs without giving any errors but when i check the directory or "programs and features"(depesnds on the windows you're using) theres nothing installed. The MO2 one on the other hand doesn't want to start saying yuri's revenge isn't installed

Edit:I didn't answer ur first question, sorry about that. What i did was only reinstalling RA2 and RA2:YR not MO3 or MO2 for the reasons above.

You must remove everything and then reinstall everything. But this time install MO2 and MO3 into separate folders.Install RA2 YR first. Create a copy of it. I think it is the best to create 3 RA2 YR folders, one for MO2, one for MO3 and one for backup. Reinstalling RA2 YR alone won't work, because the interference will persist.

You don't understand what i'm trying to tell you about reinstalling these things.

First:MO3 doesnt even register as installed by the windows. It just goes through the installating without errors yet the folder doesn't have any new files in it nor does it say in "programs and features" that i have installed it so that i can unistall it.

Second:MO2 doesn't even want to install regardless if i reinstall RA2 and RA2:YR or if i backup it 5 times(which i did sadly). It just says YR not found and it doesn't have the option of me personally selecting the folder.

Remove everything manually then or there is a nice program called Revo Uninstaller, which can remove everything which is related to the targetted program. It's good because it clears registry errors and everything and allows you to reinstall stuff without getting problems. Moreover, it can force uninstall programs.

If it created a shortcut, click right on the shortcut and its properties, then check which directory does it lead to. If it's installed, it will lead you to the correct directory. Also, instead of looking for files in the YR directory, you should launch the game via the shortcut/launcher. MO comes with it for a reason. If something is not properly installed, it will pop up an error on launching the game.

And while MO 3 should work with any YR version, MO 2 won't work with cracked or not properly installed versions. So if you have such, forget about playing MO 2.

Spoiler

I am using Win 8.1 with CNC ultimate collection. The problem is that the mod launches missions first time correctly but whenever I restart the campaign or choose another, it crashes. Log file attached (Syringe)!

Please include such long text files in a pastebin or use spoiler tags.

It is a known issue that on the second match on newer systems like Windows 8 the game will crash. An Ares update for the mod will fix this issue in the future.

I've been trying to play this mod, but have been running into difficulty because once I have hit "Launch Mental Omega" on the launcher, the launcher simply freezes for about five minutes and never actually launches the game. I've installed the mod to the Ultimate Collection version of RA2 and Yuri's Revenge, and my operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium. I've tried to get a Syringe log while the launcher is freezing, but to no success.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

First, make sure you run all exe files from the MO folder as admin, and you have admin privelages for that same folder.
Second, make sure your anti-virus or whatever other software doesn't block the launcher (or Syringe.exe).

Alternatively, you could try launching the game through cncnet.exe file.

MO won't work if YR isn't at least 1.001 version. If you're trying to update it to something newer then i have to tell you that, unless EA did something strange with TFD or Origin versions of YR, there are no newer versions of it. The only ones i am aware of are actually mods, so you'll be installing another mod in the same directory as MO.

Do what the person in this post did and it should work.

Hello. I have been trying to install Mental Omega 3.0 on my machine for the last 3 days. After several fresh uninstall/reinstalls using Revo Uninstaller software, I have been having the same issue persist. After going through the full installation and choosing the right file path with no errors along the way, the first thing I notice after the installer finishes is that there is no launcher added to my desktop. Upon further inspection, no new files have been added to my westwood/RA2 folder at all. I have given the installer admin priv. but this did not fix the problem.

I was really hoping to try out this mod, but no luck :c

I've installed mental omega into the correct folder (Downladed from origin, does that do anything, I don't THINK so....) and the mod REFUSES to run, and still gives me a  "BINKW32.dll is missing" message. Any idea why? Running windows 8.1 on a Samsung series three, by the way.

Find you binkw32.dll file and copy it into the file where the .exe for Mental Omega is located.

Have you tried eradicating the entire RA2 YR on your computer and then reinstalling it? You are the second person who met this issue and it is unknown what causes it. I can also think of that the installer you have got somehow corrupted and it doesn't work properly. Maybe downloading it again might fix it, but I really don't know.

Sadly, yes. I have made sure that every file/registry related to RA2 / RA2 YR has been removed before doing a fresh install. I have also re-downloaded the installer multiple times and tried running it as admin and in compatibility modes for XP/vista but to no avail. I'm running on windows 7 64bit and have never experienced something like this before.

It may sound odd, but it might work (might): turn off the firewall and/or the anti-virus system on your computer and then try to install it.
