Hello guys!!

I have a problem downloading the T3A: online client, I can´t understand what the problem is.

I get a message like:

T3A: Online for BFME2 Setup WIzard ended prematurely.

"T3A:Online for BFME2 Setup Wizard ended prematurely beacuse of an error. Your system has not been modified.
To install this game at a later time, run setup wizard again"

I really would appreciate some help?

I have installed the game correctly as far as I can tell, it has worked for three of my friends who installed the game in exactly the same way at the same time. I'm on windows 8.1. The problem I'm having is that when I install the T3A patch/launcher and load up the game and go to online, I receive an official EA prompt to download the latest update, almost as if T3A has not correctly installed. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Hey there!

How exactly did you install it?

I followed these instructions: http://forshire.blog...ad-bfme-ii.html

In detail, the problem is as follows:

I open the game via the 'launch BFME' button on the 'T3A Online' launcher

On the main menu I go to Multiplayer>Online

Upon loading the screen, a dialog box pops up with the heading 'Update Available' and the message: 'You must download the Update to play Battle for Middle Earth™ II Online.' with the options OK or cancel

I'm already on patch 1.08 though as evidenced by the splash screen

When I get to installing the t3a online launcher it says "T3A:Online for BFME2 setup wizard ended prematurely because of an error.Your system has not been modified. To install this program at a later time."  I tried everything   thats suppose to help installation issues, and I got all the patches . but it still said that it ended prematurely. Any ideas of whats going on?

I've got a similar issue right now that I could use some advice on.  I've installed BFME2 from the original disks, then T3AOnline BFME2_1.4.2, then the newly updated version of the BFME2 Patch Switcher.

The BFME2 Patch Switcher seems to successfully be able to update/switch versions.  However, when I open T3A Online and click the "Launch BFME" button nothing happens.  No errors, just simply no attempt to open the game.

If I go to my install directory and directly launch lotrbfme2_.exe the game runs.  However, at that point I have the same problem as Womack--that is, I get the message "You must download the Update to play BFME2 Online."

Any guidance would be appreciated.  I've been away from BFME2 for years now.  This will bring me back if I can get it working properly.

Please download this file: loginstall.bat and place it on your Desktop. Then copy/move the installer T3AOnlineBFME2_x.x.x.msi (only one installer, no previous versions!) to your Desktop. Double click the loginstall.bat and try to install the launcher. After it fails, grab the newly created log.txt and attach it to a post here.

Sometimes there just aren't that many players on the server. Many haven't moved over from GameRanger yet. Best tell all your friends to move and we'll have enough activity.

You can have a look at the status checker to be found at http://t3aonline.net/bfme2/ to see who is online.

"To know what question we may reasonably propose is in itself a strong evidence of sagacity or intelligence. For if a question be in itself incongruous and begs for uncalled-for answers, it holds, sometimes, besides embarrassing the proposer, the disadvantage to seduce the unguarded listener into giving absurd answers, and we are presented with the ridiculous spectacle of one (as the ancients said) milking the he-goat, and the other holding a sieve beneath."

I had a similar issue as you (reported above).  I was finally able to resolve it on Win7 64-bit by launching the lotrbfme2.exe that T3A creates using the 'Run as Administrator' option.  Maybe that will work for you too.

Have you cracked your game? To play without a disc, you should use a mini image, *not* a cracked game.

I have the original game and proper key code I can get online and I have played online, but I am only able to play certain games. Some people host games which I'm unable to join they are in darker writing which say when I try and join the game that I have a different version? Does any one know why this is or do I need another patch update?

Thanks

There are two patches. 1.06 and the unofficial 1.08.
