I have exactly the same error as mentioned above, tried swapping routers (Modems), restarting etc but it does not work :(
Strangely enough, my other PC (at a second home, with a different internet provider) DOES connect. Hope this gets fixed soon.

Any new updates regarding the NATNEG server issue?
Posted 01 September 2014 - 06:01 PM
Same issue here, still experience a major issue trying to connect to other players. It feels like it might be something to do with specific ISP equipment causing the problem and I along with a handful of other players are getting this problem.
I know RA3 is just one of the many games that the Revora team are supporting and we appreciate the efforts, but please can this issue get bumped up the priority list?
Sometimes I can get a 1v1 running, but most of the time the host cannot start the game due to a "Failed Connection" error with me. Even if I host it makes no difference ..

Yeah I agree with the guy above me. This problem has been around for quite a while and it's effecting my friend who actually bought the game with the knowledge that he was going to have to use the Revora servers. It'd be very nice if you could make this priority.

This happened after the last update. Any chance you can roll back to the previous version or undo whatever was changed? So many people worried about STATs and other things when there are a lot of players who cannot even play the game. If this isn't the top prior, I can't imagine what would be higher than this. I have seen many reports in other posts of people having the same problem and those are just the people that have come here to report it. It could be affecting a much larger number of people than anyone realizes. My frustration is not aimed at the developers at Revora BC I know they have a lot on their plate. Just frustrated in general and hope to be able to play again soon.

The reason this bug appeared was because GameSpy shut down their natneg server way later than they shut down the rest of their servers. We can't roll anything back, because their professionally developed natneg server is gone. We have to develop our own and are currently seriously strapped for time (what with the academic year starting).

I didn't realize it was Gamespy's NATNEG server. I thought it had to do with the last update because it started right after that. I see now why it's taking so long. Well, I really do appreciate you guys (Revora) trying to get this all sorted out. I'll keep dropping in every now and then to see if there are any updates.

Well, guys I am a professional in the IT industry and I can offer assistance in resolving this issue if you are all strapped for time?
This issue is annoying me enough that I would dedicate enough time to debug/diagnose and resolve until I have a satisfactory solution. I have read a little more about Revora and I understand that it is a non-profit organisation, how can I get onboard and give you some support?

That's easy, have a look at your PM box
"To know what question we may reasonably propose is in itself a strong evidence of sagacity or intelligence. For if a question be in itself incongruous and begs for uncalled-for answers, it holds, sometimes, besides embarrassing the proposer, the disadvantage to seduce the unguarded listener into giving absurd answers, and we are presented with the ridiculous spectacle of one (as the ancients said) milking the he-goat, and the other holding a sieve beneath."

The way it went down was like this: GameSpy's natneg server went down. We had anticipated this, but our research pointed to RA3 being able to run without it (like the other games do), so we didn't put anything in place because we were already very busy with other things. Then our expectations turned out to be false, and nobody on RA3 could play, at all. So Phil hastily coded a natneg server (not something he was familiar with) to try and band-aid the problem. We updated the launcher and the server to implement this fix, and while it worked for most people, others still get the same natneg error. Phil has yet to find the time to hammer out the bugs in his natneg server.

We *really* need help, yes. ICT will be happy to talk to you (I'm not part of the programmer's circle).

Unfortunately not, no.

I don't know if you have enough participant, but you can also make a topic on red3.org to get more poeple in. I've seen many players having this trouble here.
