The weapon really reminds me of the Aztec macuahuitl, only they used wood instead of metal.

Here we go... All topologized (manually) and UV mapped (manually) in low poly. Took me all day But, I'm happy with the result. Gonna finnish Bolg himself tomorrow, slap 'em together and send it to Edain for rigging. If they for some reason don't want it, I'll have to wait until someone else can rig it for me/us...

Manually topologizing this model, is killing me... This is by far the most tedious modeling project I've done. Great Goblin with his soft lines was child play compared to this. So many details that take forever to topologize whilst trying to keep the poly count down. Was hoping that I'd finish this guy tonight, but I must call it a day

I tried to cut down on the clusters on his head, but that totally demolosieh hiw caracteristics. Azog was easier as he didn't have all that junk in his face

What - a- friggin - nightmare! I hope I never ever have to model something with this much detail again Take a look at the UV map and I guess you can imagine how fun it was to not only topologize everything by hand, but also to place seams and cut to create all these island - and despite the effort, they're not perfect, but they'll do. I'm really happy with this model, and that I'm finally done with it. Now I just hope it will rig well and look good in anims, so I haven't made this effort in vain
Body: 5500 polys
Mace: 900 polys
That's ok for a hero.
Any other ideas than Lurtz's SKL for anims?
And one shot with good 'ol dad!

Yeah we tried the CHSS_UK_U_SKL ("Deathbringer") with Azog. It's pretty much Lurtz anims, minus the bow, and a couple of new ones =/

hehe that's right. Don't like 'em. Mostly cause they're not motion capture, and they are so few. I think Lurtz is the best after all, since it has the bow switch
