The I-nert's knight do you mean? It is closer to the looks of the actual knights and could be replaced in the Ad Mech as it was intended time ago. Many types of knights share the same pattern of suit which is the Questoris pattern (the common one). There are others which I don't know if they exist in models or if some 3d model has ever been made.

 

Lore wise, there are weaponless knight-like mechas called drovers:

 

A sub-class also exists called the Drovers who looked after the animal herds, as the nobility would not soil their hands with such work. The Drovers used walkers similar to those of their masters, but they were, by law, not armed with any weapons, despite the fact that they faced very serious threats in the form of predators and xenos raids. This forced the Drovers to rely on the Knights for protection, and created a dependency comfortable for the nobles, as it made revolt virtually impossible

 

I think the old model with big hands could be used for that role if there is such a necessity for a builder.

 

 

Besides, it's up to you if you want to focus on the Titans + ad mech with some knights or if the knights can be something on their own (besides, they can be featured in other imperial armies). Basically this is a choice between higher or lesser size and power. The scaling and progression is not easy but I found the subsystems activation a good thing to modulate the otherwise overpowerness.

Which is the natural expansion of this alpha? More types of mechas? More number of them at the same time? Who is responsible to fight for the LPs and CPs?

Yes I have the culexus head! in the body of a modified eversor I think. Not animated or rigged but textured nicely. I can work on the texture to get the best resolution or detail possible.

 

Shouldn't this thread/conversation moved or started in private as the rest?

 

Reminder, although I guess they know, that sergeants or melee marines can and should use necron phase swords.

Given it is going smoothly, do a first version avoiding the brainstorming above and from there and what you've been able to discover or test, then the improvement can be in such a way or another.

I have some ideas that I think they could work, reusing some of the basis of the Redemption of Krieg, taking into account that more models can be put, either wip or future wip.

 

Trenches per se are not possible like they were in COH's British army because of the flatness of the map and no negative heights (sure?) and no directional/orientable buildings. Nonetheless I think that omnidirectional cover areas can make a decent replacement.

 

Let me compose something until I got fed up with, at least to flesh out a little the RoK even using some placeholders meanwhile. Just to have something to hold on for the middle to long term.

 

Is there any list for easy access to look up which UCS ranges are free?

A not so ideal build will be based on replicas mostly for those factions which are marines, guard or chaos conveniently mapped with respective textures; I've made tga to rsh proxies for each banner texture to avoid confusion when re-assigning them.

 

Then second phase is to add the praetorian banner which is in the ad-hoc objective points object in Praetorian guard mod. And with this, the oe code necessary to make flag disappear if LP is build (is the same as in Thousand Sons I guess, but the oe can be seen in that Praetorian guard mod too).

 

Third phase would be assign or copy the tyranid tentacles from unused mod to the tyranid swarm race as they have a default banner currently.

 

Some mods like SW hadn't a proper banner object so that I will polish that on the oe too.

 

Wait for something for testing purposes in the end of the month.

honestly I was training my skills with the banners to jump to another more ambitious projects. But anyway, if I can do it once, I can update it again.

The trend was such as: 

RTS with base building, poor path finding and cheating AI [last 90s],

 

RTS with base building, better pathfinding and improved AI (only cheats on harder levels) [early to mid 2000s]

 

RTS with base building, squad units and territory conquest [mid 2000s]

 

RTT/RTS mix (less units, less eco, more micro) [last 2000s to early 2010s]

 

RTS/MOBA mix (hero units, simpler eco, dumber maps).

 

 

As long as the net multiplayer become more relevant, the AI development stopped and the microing with few units started

Ah so was this the reason of the invisible admech hologram? I thought there was some unavoidable engine effect with the camera perspective, the map slope ...

I have edited the vostroyan paths and now Vostroyan Firstborn have a nice rising banner with colored aquila matching the metal and the red at the borders of the flag. We only need specific banners which aren't made yet.

Before upload anything else just put here an interesting asset.

 

Someone made a chaos rune font.

Now there's no excuse to get real and fluffy writing for the Ruinous powers decorations, details and easter eggs! 

 

There are more than phonetic runes, but the ones which are implemented are:

and some numerical ones too. The ideograms are found as images in Lexicanum for example
