#1078134 MO 3.3 // Feedback & Suggestions (Balance, New Features, Modifications etc.)

To be slightly fair, the occupation of Japan could have been justified by MO!Pacific War, after the Japanese probably jumped at the opportunity to crve up their own colonial empire in Asia (and likely avenging the retreat of China an invasion by the USSR likely provoked) while the Europeans colonizers were busy with WWII, with the bonus fact that the Soviets were likewise busied, meaning they likely only faced part of the American forces... Only to be eventually curb-stomped like in reality.

#1077661 Patch 3.3.3 Proposed Changelog

Posted by Hardric62 on 12 February 2018 - 08:25 PM

First of all, new content did not delay 3.3.2 but the wait for things which were originally supposed to appear in that update. The same goes for 3.3.3, Whipray was added in the meantime as we are still working on a mission that was always planned to be a part of this update (even the previous one, actually). Also, a dedicated AA ship for Foehn was always my intention, Swordfish's Shrike was a quick makeshift solution to Foehn having no AA naval weapons at the time.

Whipray's confusion ray is just like that of Deviatress.

That could be mentionned in the lore tet about the ship. Something like 'It took some time for the Foehn Revolt to assemble dedicated AA ships for its fleet. Stopgaps measures like the addition of Shrike Drones on the Swordfishes were required until a ship able to make a suitable use of the Golden Rocket system could be devised.'

Given the fact we see Conscripts there, and no Heavy Troopers? I'll bet we're attacking that base to get this plane.

So, more Foehn Origins missions are a thing. Christmas is only about two monthes away, but I'll still take the present, so thanks. And I'm really curious about what Act 3 will be...

So why its it that the Arizona memorial in pearl harbour still exists??

History sudent speaking, I can see a Pacific War happening in RAverse. On one hand, the Soviets invade China, breaking the Japanese armies there, probably leadiing the elites to desire a revenge, and for this they'll need more ressources, like the ones of the Western Europeans colonies, also playing in the hands of the Japanese deisre of taking over these empires for their own gains. WW2 à la Red Alert diverts the attention of both the Europeans and Soviets, leaving to the Japanese the opportunity of conquering these colonial empires, with of course the US protesting and ready to protect their on interests in Asia, leading to a war against them probably not so different from our Pacific War. And the Japanese probably attacked Pearl Harbor preemptively, just like in reality.

#1068487 Act II Predictions - SPOILERS for Act I

Posted by Hardric62 on 05 October 2017 - 03:37 PM

On one hand, Paraox's defeat is something unthinkable. On the other... maybe Yuri or Libra get defeated, something which is unthinkable for Epsilon, and the Proselyte... becomes the new head honcho?

also while im here, i read a comment on speeders juggernaut playthrough about there being a cyborg prototype somewhere. can anyone tell me what that's about

Martinoz (i hope i spelt that right) has a video on YouTube showing how to get it.

And I shall propose renaming the unit to "lovalmidas", because (s)he too lives in Singapore, and so that players will have the opportunity to revel in ending him.

That's the sort of thing you don't know you want... Right until you learn about it and decide you cannot not having it.

Since when does USA fight Japan?

If you mean WW2, remember that WW2 in RA is different. USA fights Soviets, not facism

It doesn't mean Japanese militarists from the time didn't use the conflict in Europe, which probably weakened colonizing countries, and US involvement in Europe to play their cards in Asia... before getting curbstomped in a Pacific War. Frankly, the Pacific War is almost a distinct war from the one in Europe in WW2, the Japanese only used Germany as a distraction against Westerners. Why not do the same with the Soviets in the RA-verse?

The first will be likely Nobody Home, probably to make sure the technology and means for creating Foehn remain secure despite the events of Thread of Dread (afterr all, we never fought Gharials until now, and the proto-Mastodons evacuated too, withouut talkng aout the Centurion). The other question here is, does it happen before or after Thread of Dread, or at the same time? There is also the question of if we'll see more proto-Foehn during the campaigns.

Where is this ship that made an escape in Obsidian Sands? I am still looking around for it......

when you destroy Rashidi's palace, the water cliff to the left of it breaks and a "vehicle" comes out of it, not a ship. and it should be pretty obvious what that vehicle is.

You can glimpse it on this video (you'd swear people on Youtube avoid this cave on purpose when they record). Damn, he went so fast when I played, I didn't see it was a Jackal. Link with Foehn became absolute evidence.

Could the Foehn Origins just be a Chinese campaign with some modified units?

We haven't had a true Chinese missions, aside from that one Epsilon mission.

Also, I'm hoping we find out what the relationship between proto-Foehn and the Chinese forces is.

From Power Hunger, the main Chinese forces are aware of Yunru's activity.

But from Cyberanatomy, the rogue forces are unaware of the peace treaty, which means they haven't contacted the Chinese forces in a long time.

So is proto-Foehn rogue or actually a recognized branch of China?

Well, maybe Yunru used the fact she was the one and only source of this tech to go rogue (also explaining er base is sporting Foehn colors). She wasn't exactly that willing to work for them if I remember her backstory right.

The Allies didn't just destroy the bombs. They destroyed the very mining facilities used for making them while they were infiltrating them fo informations about the MIDAS' location. And you can bet Yuri made sabotaging these facilities so they remain destroyed a top priority.

Dunno if it's the good thread, but still... Could it be possible to remove the Desperate Driver at the very start in Killing Fields? If we get unlucky during the deployment, the dirty little ducker cripple half of our Initiate squad.
