no this one

there is a more simple sulution for that problem. make the explosive units only explode when they are commanded to do so.

and the GLA Ai shuld be adapted to use more tanks and infantry (to use their numbers). that would make them much harder (and seting up more defence would be nice for them)

No, this isn't good. The nice touch of the demo general is that the enemy always FEAR to be close of his units. If the unit only explode when commanded, this will bring too much trouble as the player will need a LOT of micromanagement to detonate his units. :(

erm it wont be so hard becose the already have this button and if you control the explosives they can make a lot of damage. theres a nice tactic with this:
upgarade all explosive things, get ambush to 3 then spawn them in the enemy base, select them and kaboom. beather damage than a bombtruck.

it looks good so far...

I had some ideas that might could help reach that finishing touch.

the scorpion has much higher contrast. The lights are much lighter and the darks are much darker. Heavy outliines around plates sketched into the front of the skin would look good, especialy if they wern't symetrical. and maybe segment the barel with some lines, atleast where the cone is near the end.
also, you could doulb ehte size of the exsauhst system and it would look good. the scorpion is a much smaller tank and has bigger exhaust. If this baby chugs black smoke like a deisle fire it will look very GLA.

you'd have to check it out to see if it would look good or not, but making the back flat section wider or narrower so it doesn't look contigious with the front block could be an improvment. maybe bring it in until you can see the tracks below it. (almost like a pickup with the bed removed) and raise it so it looks like an area comming off the back end and not just an empty space on the vehicle. it would look rough and coarse like a GLA vehicle then I think. I'd say at a guess, 30% more narrow and 30% taller on the tail end.

I also dunno about commad det only... maybe an On attack only detnation. that is bigger than the on death detnation.

this is just a thaught....

I was going through the ZH w3dzh.big file and found a GLA powerplant. I'm htinking about giving assault GLA a base structure more silimiare to other generals. they would have base defenses of equal strength and would have a normal HQ and supply center, but would also require power. basicly just make them more a conventional army in base and units. that was GLA woul dhave atleast one stand up and fight army.

Looking very good. :lol:
Maybe some black borders around the metal plates, like the scorpion has?
Your looks very clean yet, and the gla stuff is rusty/dirty , with a desert look.

Very good work guys ! As for the gla look of the tanks try put some iron plates on some parts of the tank !

For those interested in pre-beta testing. its also available on my ftp. It does not include any new units for GLA other than the Mammoth tank, but it does have everything from the screenshots plus a few other bug fixes. not EVERY bug listed has been fixed. If you have any bugs or suggestions drop them in the bug thread.

keep in mind, this is not meant to be the next release, this is simply testing changes so far. some new units may have bugs like odd build pre-reqs or super fast build time... this was because I was testing that unit/building and had it set up for a quick build to save time.

erm why does it say on your site that remix 3 is out.

and i cant download this testing version from that site. i click free at the bottom and nothing happens.

I think the one with the narrow back end looks alot better. less traditional and a little more GLA patchwork look.
