I have an Idea. You know how that one bunker lets you build a specific team of troops? Can they leave the bunker?

I think when you sell it they can, although I know for sure you can garrison your own troops into the bunker.

Well, suppose it was the same for Aircraft? You could buy an Air Superiority Squadron (Raptors), Assault Squadron (F-117s), Strategic Squadron (Auroras), and CAS Squadron (A-10s).

Seems kinda hard to code with the four seperate parking spaces, but that's not a bad idea otherwise.

And yes when you sell the bunker the troops you garrisoned leave, but you can't stick anyone in there without the bunker's upgrades.

Hmmm. Kinda an interesting idea. Sorta have it like the AF general's light bunker. Four buttons, and select the type of squad you want to build. The base would be sort of like a field hardened bunker type of forward operations base (FOB). The only problem is that FOB's have been brought up before in various other formats in general, and VG hasn't been keen on the idea. But, I must admit this one has a slightly different approach.

I can't speak for Vanguard, but personally I like the idea at least. :thumbsup:

I would agree. Some sort of strong anti-ship gun would be nice. Either that, or reduce the hit points on the ships so they are a little more easier to destroy. In PR 6.0 it was tough to take down a ship with the normal defensive structures. Reportedly, the ships are going to be downsized [physically] in PR 8.0, so it would be a perfect time to make other navy tweaks as well, in my personal opinion. :lol:

You mean a big shore cannon? Works for me.

Note: The USA have practically retired the destroyer and now rely almost exclusively on carriers, with a few missile frigates for an escort. Not many big cannons under US flags on the sea any more. I know what VG said about carriers, but the ships in the game now are outdated because missiles have better range and accuracy.

True, but you must remember that the firing cost of a Tomahawk Cruise missile is a million dollars. I am not joking.

So, guns are much cheaper.

Also, the Destroyer has not been abandoned, as it is made for one thing and one thing only: Anti Submarine Warfare.

But, I like the idea of an anti-ship cannon. However, how the hell are we going to make it useless against normal units? It would encourage camping.

the aircraft carryers act as buildings in ZH and PR, you can lose your entire base withiout dieing, i tryed seting a health limit on the carryers but they wont die, no matter how much i hit them, i suggest changing that.

US is all about expensive stuff and fighters cuz they have a much better range, and the missile frigates are mainly used to kill ships, not shore targets (that's what carriers and Hornets are for).

Also, we'll probably have to make our own carriers anyway and not use the one in Generals cuz that's too big.

Hey, anyone for the idea of a whole new totally realistic type airfields? With the big long airstrips too, because I dont know, it would be really fun for the rangers to try and take down the enemy planes before it makes it off the ground. I personally do not really favor the idea of freaking fighters taking off on a 2 foot runway (disclaimer: Highly exaggerated to deliver the poster's message) But it seems better suited for more like VTOLs and STOVLs (f-23 and AV-8 Harriers)

Thats just my stupid opinion :lol:

Maybe they could be a tad longer, but the airfield is already the largest building in the game, so I would say no unless Raptor damage is revised drastically upwards and is hard to shoot down, plus more expensive. That way it's really worth hitting it before it takes off.

aye, raptors should be the power of the skies. This is something pretty important to look at really because the raptors have been reduced to nothing but a swarmer for me, I mean if you want to do at least some damage I have to build squadrons at a time, plus the regular raptor is so easy to shoot down because the armor is crap....

Downsize the attack on ground units and increase its power against Aircraft.
