The F-22 and F-23 were equal (F-23 was stealthier, F-22 was more agile), and we can not find out which one was really better, as the people posting the information have opinions too.

So would the 23 make a more ideal ground attack platform?

I don't think that it should be a BOMBER, but ground attact would be cool.

Code the Missiles for Ground attack only, and call 'em mavericks.

AGM-65 Goodness.

Just a quick note, and general FYI here to those who might be interested in the FB-22, I ran across a four page article about the FB-22 in Popular Science magazine.

Great article! Thanks.

Interesting and workable idea. Would be a great addition to the US Force Projection abilities. The F-15E can carry quite a bombload, but lacks the 'legs' to truly be an effective bomber.

the F-23 was a fighter plane just like the F-22 although the F-22 was more agile. the F-23 shouldn't be an ground attacker only, the FB-22 would be better at it

If votes are being taken, I would like to see the FB-22 inclueded in the mod as well, perhaps replacing the stealth?

The 15 would be good

I know the Widow was designed to attack air, but it sounds like it would be a good tank killer. I think it should be really good vs air but the rockets can attack ground fairly well.

Don't worry, the FB-22 would still be the king light bomber.

As for tank killers..............................

Include the A-10. F-23 is too fast, can not take the damage the A-10 can, has a smaller turn radius than the A-10, does not have the cannon, does not have the hardpoints...the list goes on and on.

All close air support craft need one vital thing: LOITER TIME. They need to be able to fly above formations for a long time, 60min+, in a relatively small area. High performance fighters are not designed for such dirt pounding.

I wasn't thinking close support, just limited air-ground ability.

For close support, JSF. The A-10 is kinda old.

Doesn't matter. Nothing new has come close to the good ol' Thunderbolt (Warthog, whichever). She can take a beating and a half. Then even some more!

OK. Is the A-10 small enough to fit on a fighter airfield?

Does anyone know for sure whether it's called the Thunderbolt or Warthog?

I saw it done in another mod once. It wasn't pretty. The wings overlapped a bit. But it worked.

The official name is Thunderbolt, but pilots called it the Warthog because of its shape.
