That way of making navies is very bugged.

The best way is with a tech shipyard, with everything scaled down a bit so that the map is bigger.

There is also a way to make these shipyards destructible, but able to be rebuilt as well. So this would allow temporary immobility to the enemy Navy, but it doesn't turn the game into a navy bashing game for the whole time.

i think that navy's are a crap idea for remix its so not generals :)

Your mod is wonderful and the models are exquisite, but why not add some navy units in it. If we can build battleships more powerful than Missouri and the aircraft carrier in the game, the tactics will be more complex and the game will be more exciting.

Your mod is wonderful and the models are exquisite, but why not add some navy units in it. If we can build battleships more powerful than Missouri and the aircraft carrier in the game, the tactics will be more complex and the game will be more exciting.

This has been spoken about many times even in the last 3 or 4 posts so i am surprised u actually said this. lol
Pend needs a mapper because he would rather add a neutral building what you capture build ships rather than build them yourself.
Another reason why is because there is no maps that have enough water to be of any fun and the models would then need to be scaled down to simply make them match the scale of the maps, no point having a battleship the size of a lake if it will move an inch and be at the other side of the lake.
Also navy is always has bugs they can be made to be as bug less as passable but no matter what you do there will always be 1 or 2.
Besides does generals "really need" a navy?
It never had one only had ships in missions but that does not count, it was not made for controllable navy and this is why there is hardly any water on maps and the limited size of them.
Look at red alert 2 the navy in that looks small compaired to the map and as such gives them meaning, personally i happy without them they wont add much to the game imo.

I completely agree with Phoenix911, Generals does not need navy and it would only suck if it was added.
I like generals the way it is with ground and air based combat. It does not need water as well...

The only thing Naval that i would be satisfied with would be a support power where an off map ship fires cannons to the target area, or the aircraft carrier used in one one the ZH missions uses its planes as a generals power.

Don't put any ship in remix....I've seen the horror of ship sailing on the land brutally destroy any building that it came across.

problem with this olli is the carriers or battleship would need to be on the map reason for this is because if it is not then all it will look like is artillery with a name of navel bombardment.

Exactly... my point being I really wouldn't want any ship on the map, so it would be the same as an artilery strike, but with a different explosion FX, and bigger shells.

The planes coming on and bombing the target would be fine aswell.
in the target area, 20 raptors (in groups of 2) fly past the area attacking targets on oppurtunity with missiles and dropping bombs inside the AoE to damage buildings. Would be quite a nice power actually....

May as well just be AF gen if thats the case he has enough great planes and bombers with 2 fantastic sw's.
Why use a power when u can haev unlimited strikes :)

love this mod, brilliant, and the teching system is an excellent way of keeping games from rushing straight to SW without army building, love it and it :p


so ofc i am wondering if theres going to be a next version and if so, when is the rought idea it may be released?

currently we have what is it? 8 incredibly well made sides, techs, tonnes of super weapons and best of all the uniqueness of the upgrades and units in each side and the way they play

although i would like to suggest 4 GLA sides and if possible AI for all the generals, currently i for some reason (may be intentional) can only play against the tank and Robot generals (i think it says it in readme that this is what happens) but it would be nice to be abel to fight all generals for AI

but anyway brilliant work

In the 2.29 Remix Alpha, you can play as the USA and Chinese generals.
Only robot ai works in this version, and our master Pend is in Iraq so the community is a little dead.
But the mod will be fully released one beautiful day and the world will unite to play Remix 3 and Contra together! :p

Contra version 6 is upcoming but ver 5 is released and very enjoyable!

These 2 latest posts were most useless.

I was simply giving an explanation as to "why" no one has posted, and please tell me HOW posting useless stuff is better than not?
If u wanna talk then talk on msn to your friends or go post in the "off topic area" don't post crap in this topic for no reason that is unrelated to suggestions.

So hopefully you understand that this is "suggestions" topic not "lets talk crap" topic.

okie after all these useless posts ive got some suggestions that i think would be nice in the game

first the Tank general i think the Shaitan as cool unit as it is should be either beefed up or be the little brother to a real super unit for the tank general, i have been looking at the new models of the laser generals heavey tanks that have many modular weapons, i think the super tank general should be like a moving fortress with several weapons, very large guns, rocket pods (SMS sort of thing only twice/3 times the size) and at the back another large layer of gun, i was sort of thinking like a battle cruiser it has layers of weaponry, well this uber tank could have two ends to it, on the back and front on the bottom layer quad high cal cannons with higher AOE and damage output than regular cannons, then a modular top so you can add a triple layer of guns or one big weapon, choice such as SMS descirbed above or a large Lighting cannon, and on the back those duel large missles used for artillary or AA, i did not take into balance with this ofc but its one of those wow factor units, keep the Shaiton but i dont think its Uber material, you have models like Fafnir for example as the Robot generals uber unit but i think Tank general deserves a new modeled uber unit with modular functions much like the Chimera only ofc as explained much bigger, maybe using Mammoth tank tracks only perhaps three or four of them either side instead of two to make it an overall larger weapon, mainly just a wow factor weapon of uberness that could be fun, i certainly have fun thinking of it because personally altho i like the Shaiton, its in essence is a larger overlord with rotating barrels, i think a much larger and more uniquely modeled Tank for Tank general should be good for his uber unit since there are already so many Overlord shaped tanks used by him

also for Tank general a more simple endavour perhaps, i think a new model for the double barreled heavy defence for Tank general, maybe make it modular so you can add a pair of long range artillary missles and lighting gun if you pay out on it, i think it is one of the least impressive heavy defence systems of the generals imo
