i dont think AFG is the weakest, i just feel that the flaw in AFG will make it too weak if enemy exploits it.

and i remember creator saying once, that this game is about who has more of something. if you have more aircrafts then opponent has AA, then attacking your opponent shouldn't be a problem. however if your opponent has more AA than you have aircrafts, you wouldn't be able to attack him with ease, so it is really quite funny how phoenix describe the ease of using AFG to destory this and to destory that. he must have never met with a player with mad AA masses.

and i thought that the planes dying in the air without ammo when airfield is destoryed cannot be changed, that is why i suggested the airfield in the centre idea. so if pend could change planes to never die when they run out of ammo, it'll be great. in this way, the planes will only die in combat, and not when the airfield is destoryed, which makes more sense.

I don't mind planes dying when out of ammo and no where to land.

And airforce "destroying this and destroying that" Is fairly simple. If you play against anyone with missle defence: 2 awacs to shoot down missles, bring in thunderbolt II's to start taking out the defences, have a few hellicopters (especially some apaches) to kill infantry. If they have no aa guns or lasers you pretty good there.

The problem is when you're against someone with gatling defence. Use 2 B-52's to pick off the gatling cannons. A-10's and F-117's can also easly help in picking them off. once that area is gone, send in 1 or 2 awacs with a bunch of choppers to assault. Use them to kill power, followed by the CC and workers. Raptors can easily and efficiently kill gatling tanks or avengers, have 2-3 A-10's come in to kill the war factories. Your choppers (especially the apache's) should be able to kill any infantry, and the awacs and apaches can shoot down the missles anyway. By this time, even if your strike is killed, your opponent is out of power, out of a command center, out of workers, and you can continue to pick off the rest at your pleasure.

So...yes, AFG can indeed "kill this and that." And with enough micro, you can easily defend yourself. (dolphins and rapiers for anti infantry, raptors & A-10's for anti vehicle, all covered by awacs.)

Please notice that neither of these attacks used general powers, super weapons, orcas, or arouras.

i understand, but a great deal of effort has to be spend on all these micro management. the way phoenix phrase it is like using AFG is a no brainer.

AF gen does need micro management but a lot of generals need it, if you can't do micro manage then AF gen ain't for you.
And it relatively easy for any player who can micro manage and are good with the gen.

When I stop hating ZH again and resume modding. I made a huge amount of progress last month. This month I'm sick of looking at it. Maybe next month I'll be back in the mood.

Between now and the next polished release there should be very little new art work done. Instead the focus is on designing, testing, and fixing. the mod has always been so close to finished that its nearly criminal. I'd love to see this through to the end with a real community effort.

darn, i want to use GLA. and pls dont ban me. i'm just one of those few eager people waiting for a mod to be released so playing ZH won't be a boring as it used to be. you wouldnt understand how it feels like because you're part of the project, and i'm not.

There are plenty of other mods and an public version out, you can't say you don't have mods to play.
Also don't limit yourself to 1 game, you know there are other games other than ZH you could play while waiting, you could even read a book. :sleep:

the only thing i can think of is crosus, or something like that. but remix is not on the network i think. contra is however on it.

cold war crises.

Only a few i can think of all tho there are others.
just check out this website and look under the ZH mods section.
should have most mods listed.

i tried ZH retarded. it is retarded. CWC is good, tried it before.

oh, and i saw that shockwave have a launcher, will remix3 have that kind of launcher too? if so, do not put in the windowed option, i cannot shift the camera view while in windowed mode...
i remember pend (or was it creator) saying that he was considering a launcher. launchers are great, they launch.

I'm doing fine here in Mortaritaville.

We've been getting shelled alot lately, but its nothing to worry about. If we added REALISM to ZH... mortars wouldn't kill anybody, or really destroy anything important. Instead it would cause all the enemy infantry to hide in bunkers for 5 minutes and talk about how much the war sucks.

I'm starting to look at modding again... not actualy modding.. thats a little too much right now... but I'm looking at it again. From a distance, as if I'm afriad it may bite. I'll be back up and running soon I think.

Iraq is going well though. It looks like they'll be moving me from this tiny base to an even smaller, tinier base. But thats ok, I know how to get by just the basics. Its not like my internet could get slower there.

The plan is to inherit a version of the Contra launcher for Remix.

as for windowed mode, I absolutly WILL be including an option for it! I ONLY play in windowed. You may not like it, but some of us refuse to play without it.
