pend, cheer up. a smaller base means people will have difficulty shelling your base.
and yes, put in windowed option. i didnt know you could shift the camera view using the arrow keys...
and pend you play in windowed because you play while at work? lol, i only play in windowed when i'm in school on my laptop

No, I played windoed so I can chat, web surf, and mod without interupting my game.

Its also great for AI testing, pit 2 AIs 1vs1 and let it run till one wins, watching now and then to make sure they are well balanced vs each other. I did that alot for the older versions of Remix.

Between now and the next polished release there should be very little new art work done. Instead the focus is on designing, testing, and fixing. the mod has always been so close to finished that its nearly criminal. I'd love to see this through to the end with a real community effort.

A suggestion for superweapon general: Change the model for the Sw gen SDI-cannon... It looks now like big attilery weapon or a planetery defence that is more suited for lazer general....

It should have been more some sort of incredible powerful railgun
maybe it should look more like this:

gotta admit the SDI cannon could be scaled down, the model itself ain't bad but i do find it a little too big.
Maybe half the size would be good still bigger than a fire base because of its super killing power.

You got that picture from Star wars battlefront didn't you...

I agree the SDI cannon should be re-modeled. It does still look like a large thing used to stop balistic missles as it was in contra I believe... The idea of it being a massive rail gun is cool. (when I think of rail-gun, I'm thinking of the Ace combat 6 animation on the last plane, you can get a mini rail gun on that.)

But yes, giving it dual rail guns would be interesting (I say dual because if it was a single shot it would be quite ineffective, it would lose a lot of its rate of fire.) It still is something SWG would have, and would make a good defence, killing everything in its line of sight.

I have made a little model of what the SDI cannon might be. I have made it with the program "lego digital designer" because i am not that good of moddeling or with a pencil....
So please do not laugh.... :p

Beside the SDI on Remix could also get renamed, or das it still intercept strategic treads?

Cool concept Blue Phoenix.

I like it. However, I have no problems with how the current one looks now, or what its weapons are, or its function.
But regardless, it's still a cool design.

I don't mind the model its relatively good, maybe could have some tiny little changes to it but over all its great.
Name change would be a great thing since it no longer is a SDI cannon.
And size imo is too big as said before i don't think it should be small but maybe a little bigger than a fire base, it would still take up space but it would be ott and it would fit on smaller maps better.
Weapon is fine a big single partical beam laser that it has now kicks ass it don't really need changing, it is kinda slow on targeting air units so maybe add 2 or even 4 small rail gun or partical blast AA on the corners of the model (maybe an upgrade?)

I don't agree with a size change. I think the power of the weapon has to pretty much mirror its size.

It fires a full scale particle beam, the one you find on the superweapon. It wouldn't look fitting if it was on a building just a little bigger than a firebase.


However this picture would be great railgun defense for the new Spec Op's General

A little continue of my design... :mellow:
Added a little fire effect plus some anti-air turrets like Phoenix911 suggested.
Maybe the impact of the blast should have around the same effect and speed as the sniper cannon of tank general, only more powerful and a bigger aoe.
Fire-ing speed should be not too fast for the ballance but its accuraty is (almost) perfect...

Maybe i will change the model a little some other time.

Very cool indead.

I wouldn't mind seeing something like that in game.
However, I still think its main weapin is more suited to Spec ops gen for a defense turret

Not a bad idea for a weapon.
And olli that defense site is too big come on half the maps where you start don't have the space for it by the time u get to the tech to build it. Having it bigger that a fire base but smaller than it is now would keep it balanced because of all the time it takes to you to get the tech level, You even need to do an upgrade if i remember rightly (not played SW gen in awhile) to actually be able to build it in the first place once u hit tech 3, it would make for more maps to actually make uses of that weapon that don't have the space to whack that down.

but why does it have anti air turrents on it? it'll be like a defense effective against many all things. and i didnt know there is a lego designer, i'm goin to try it now.

For the SDI cannon?
It already can fire at air but its only good if the cannon is facing the right way at time, turret turns to slow. thats why i suggested making the main gun only fire at ground but add a 2 or 3 AA sites on the model.

This Lego editor program seems quite useful. Especially if you have an idea and want to show what it would look like visually, to get size/design etc.

No harm in anyone doing that if they have an idea they want to share.

it can be used for anything. it is more of a support unit, like arti and such. not meant to replace any units, but it is an addition.
