I like the idea of the AA toxin clouds but personly i feel it could be better :pD or changed to somethign more effective.

I agree gla are weak in some areas ut thats how the play style was, BUT please remember gla has not been started yet, also pend is moving from terrorest faction to more of a middle easten army basicly same sort os play style but with countrys backing them so they have some better funding leading to better units and such, still never gonna be as high tech as america or china but they will have some nice toys :p

- fast scout vehicles for all sides big line of sight but weak and cheap.
basicly a UAZ for the GLA and those dune buggy's for the USA and whatever china uses as a scout vehicle for them.

- MI-17 with rocket pods for the GLA to give them some form of an attack helicopter but its quite slow compared to the comanche and doesnt have a machinegun.
also serves as a transport for sneaking some units behind enemy lines.

hello, welcome to contra/remix forums.

Gla for remix has already some airforce planed aswell as a hind d.
Every team has radar vans and some mobile means of spying on the enermy and so the scouts altho nice is not needed.

(I still think us radar vans should be stealthed aswell >.> as all other radar vans as ther emnt to remained hidden for spying reasons. *hint hint pend*)

I think the weak silicon clouds are a response to the over powered silicon clounds of Contra.03. In .03 I once lost 25 aircraft to a single slilicon missile.... I think the answer is in balance.

A single missile should not destroy a jet because if its a 1 shot 1 kill then 1 shot = 25 kills.... I think a better answer is going to be making more ways to get the silicon up, and create LARGER cloud areas but lower damage per time. that way jets spend longer in it to die. It wouldn't stop attacks, but it would keep them from going home.

a few special toys I'm thinking about but may or may not see light of day:

Silicon Flak guns... they shoot up and burst at the set Altatude all around an area, creating large clouds around the target. Less effective vs single aircraft, more effective vs groups of aircraft

Foggers... they started as an idea to use giant fans WWI style to spraw clouds of toxin out on infantry, but a toggle could be added to tilt the fans back and spray silicon clouds up over an area to create a perpetual cloud.

And of course the silicon missiles would remain for use vs a single aircraft.


Zeplins (the proposed SU for Chem) would just have to be imune to silicon, and might even get the ability to create clouds around themselves on command.

Between now and the next polished release there should be very little new art work done. Instead the focus is on designing, testing, and fixing. the mod has always been so close to finished that its nearly criminal. I'd love to see this through to the end with a real community effort.

- It is a good idea. As long as they don't loose vital terrorism units like Saboteurs and Hijackers and so on.
Those 2 particular upgrades I mentioned weren't for GLA at all.. >.>

Good ideas. Maybe something of those could replace that Defiler refinery thingie. Maybe the huge fan.. The Defiler was unrealistic even for a game and not reaaaaaaally useful.

The Zeppelins are very interesting. I suppose it could be argued GLA Toxin have managed to produce a special filter to prevent silicon from harming the Zep engines, allowing them to fly in it and spread it around.. or something.. Don't know.

Not all GLA are moving toward being a profesional army... Its really more of a polerizing... Assault and Chem will make moves toward being real armies, Assault especialy. While Demo and especialy Stealth will make a shift more toward the terrorst-sneaky side.

And from another angle... Assault and Stealth are going to become polar oposites while Demo and Chem are going to change just a little to become more unique.


Assualt will be changing alot with a whole new focus on artillery and a good selection of Tanks and Aircraft. His play style will echo china in many ways, but with a unique flare. His hallmarks will be artillery and versitality. A good variety of Tanks and Jets. the early game he'll have his own, decent ground and air units, then durring the early/mid game he'll gain black market access to the most generic China equipment (from a special building) such as BattleMasters, Migs, troop crawlers (GLA-skined) to help round out his unit selections. Also in the mid game he'll pickup the standard GLA heavy units such as the Maurader. In the late game he'll have his own special variety of extra heavy artillery and mamoth tanks.

Chem will be changing alittle. He'll gain base defenses, a few units, the zeplins, some superweapon changes, etc... pretty much what all Remix generals get. Its alot... but its tough to narrow down as one focus. He's already got some real army style with his tank variety, so its realy just a general expansion of what he already has.

Demo will also only change a little... I will be adding a few more conventional units, most using HE shells etc... but they will also get some base defenses and a new super weapon etc.... again, what all remix generals get. Demo is already a terror faction.. he just needs more unique flavor.

Stealth will be changing ALOT. His focus will be not only on stealth, but subterfuge and capture powers. Defectors, sabatures, hijackers, etc... He'll more ways to create mass mayhem then any other general, but an exceptionaly weak conventional force. Powers beyond compare matched only by his direct confrontation ineptitude. almost like the SupW general of the GLA he will spend time managing and defending his base while waiting on timers to count down. Base defense will be more about fanning out and building traps. Attacks will be ambush oriented to kill enemy stealth detectors so the main force can be worn away by othewise weak stealthed units. I highly anticipate stealth general... He will be dificult to play, but highly rewarding. I think he might even become my favortie general if it all works out.



Once I actualy begin working on GLA factions I'll be starting seperate topics with To-Do lists and open dicusions for each general.

Pend i loving your ideas for the gla toxin gens aa. pretty nice. and the airships should be able to fly in the cloud imo or else peaple would be too afriend to use the damn weapons as ther own airships might get hit by there own weapon.

Hey anyone else had this on the newest alpha, the cyber generals cruise missile launcher did something weird 2 times in a row on me.

First i fired it worked fine but the 2nd and 3rd times it took off flow about 1 inch and then dropped on my small defence force also killing a building i had garrasoned, Worked fine the first time idk what happened the other times. And it never hit a building or anythign during the take or of within that inch of flight.

The mobile Super did that? Bizzare... I've never seen it do that before. I've used it several times... I launched dozens of them durring testing :p They cost 1$, built at the command center, and reloaded in 3 seconds! It would be an understatment to say I used them a bit durring testing!

If you can, re-test that. It may have been something about where you were launching from... But I've never had that. I've even aimed the launcher so the missiles flew off the map and circled back to fly to the target.

Was it maybe sitting on unlevel ground?

assualt gen to be more of a real army ? i love it.

does this mean we will get the T-72 ? i hope it does because its my favorite tank after the T-80UK
also for anti air take a look at the Tor M1 http://www.defense-u...ducts/t/tor.htm iran has aquired a bunch of these for their nuclear facility's.

also the ukranians are selling T-80UD's to syria perhaps also an interesting tank for the assualt general.
and please consider the BM-21 rocket artillery 40 122mm rockets to rain death and destruction on the poor bastards on the recieving end.
man thinking about those rockets makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside :p

The assult gen already has the katusha rockets platform.

And u must remember Don't just got thinking all moden real life units will make it in game this is not ment to be relalistic not is it ment to be too fictional.

ps: i guess it could have been tha map in smoe weird way idk, it worked fine teh first time and the 2nd and 3rd it just pissed up. and i fired it from teh same location as the 1st >.< witch was on flat land on a parking lot as it was a small city type map.

MY GOD PEND! I was having so much fun I almost forgot to post....
anyway. Robot has spelling errors (I forget which unit)
China Inf. (I know it's not finished) has lots of those MISSING OBJECT:INF DROP things...
and also (just for fun) I tired to MAKE the "F44 Glitch" work but in sixteen different situations with anywhere from 1- 32 F44 I never had any of them take damage...

Also pend. What science do I need for the ONI? it says two "other sciences" needed.
Is it a glitch? (I was rank 2 btw.)

i was level 4 and got every tech center and such buildings and yet i still cant build the B2 Oni
where ur F44s level 3?
how did u order the F44s?
did u tell them 2 attack a target and than leave them or did u let them fly into enemy base looking for targets because that is what i did.(i saw the target at last moment and told them 2 drop the bombs when they were right on top of the target)
what can of buildings did u attack(the friendly fire happened when i ordered them 2 attack tall targets like the power plants)

It is not a glich u need tech 3 rank 5 and the moab bomb upgrade complete.

The Oni is a moab bomber it makes sence, so if u don't get the fuelai bomb gen pow3er and upgrade it u can't get the oni ok.

Tiker i not gonna say this again me nore pend nore anyone else has a clue what your talking bout :) go get a screenshot of even better a small 15 second video using fraps or something to show us. Personly i think your the only one with this problem and i personly think ther eis somethign else damaging yourjets not your own planes.

capt tiker i think the weapon splash damage is damaging your airplanes.

i had the same thing with the standard zero hour raptor when trying to hit a vehicle behind a building.
the missiles hit the building while the raptor was in splash damage range.

Get a specific list and I'll fix them all. also, there is a newer version already that has some of the labels corrected. Still make a list of errors and I can get them all... "Lots of" doesn't ge tme close enough... theres several thousand lines of code... as in JUST Robot general has 24,203 lines of code... multiply that by 12 and you've only got the Generals and none of the weapons, weapon objects, object creation lists etc... Theres easily a half million lines of code in all. So please, you have got to be specific when refering to bugs.

That aside, I'm glad to hear your having fun. I guess that means you aprove of my work? :)

I don't doubt that the splash damage CAN effect the jets... but the fact that Tiker has a perpetual problem with it happening is odd... maybe it is the micromanaging and last second targets... I dunno... I've never had it happen... ever.

The needed Sciences ARE: Shockwave Bomb upgraded to MOAB (So min rank 5) and Saturation bombing relay... plus all the tech buildings leading up to it.

Its a bitch to get, and most games I never build one. If I get Rank5 before then end of the game I was to busy killing and can't afford the Saturation Relay... If I get the Saturation Relay I'm almost never Rank5... go figure. BUT when it does get played its hell on the enemy base. A few of them can very quickly wrap up a game.

Yer tell me about it, they are really nice aircrafts very fun to use, But alot fo the games just are not long enough.

BUT with the insain ai once there all done and dusted i sure it will be long games :)

Hi! Questions again!

1. Does every new unit have their own production icon, sounds, quotes, voice and description? While having 100 different voices/quotes is not necessary, I hope there won't be 5 units of the same army using the same voice-over for example.. ;)

2. Do you need any help with spelling/grammar errors for the unit descriptions? ;)
