That's called teasing, and teasing is for the weak :)

You should note however that the picture is a png, so because of some transparency or another the outside is red, the background of the forums, and not white ;)

How goes that SC2 mod?


The art goes well, but Blizzard are being Nazis and have limited any mods, maps, or add-ons to 20MB. Also, no SDK as of yet. So we're pretty much stuck for now.

Quickly made the base mesh for a high-detail Aragorn's Elven Knife...

I got the idea by seeing someone making one somewhere, and I wanted a quick project that I could take into ZBrush. Making a human takes way too long. And yes, I know I have triangles. Shame on me.

Just a shot from Max. Unfortunately, ZBrush4 doesn't come out until the 9th of August, and I'm waiting until then to buy it.

You've got me brimming with inferiority and jealousy right about now. :) Your model looks awesome, I can't wait to see it textured. On a side note, I see that you're saving your renders as PNG's for maximum quality, which is good, but that creates excess transparent space in the images. I'd recommend that you crop your images a bit before you post them.

Edit: Also, how quickly is quickly for a mesh like this?

So I've fallen in love with environments...and I decided to take up the task of creating Minas Tirith. In full detail. Including interior rooms, such as the throne room where the King's throne is and the steward sits.

Keep in mind that most of these buildings and textures are just placeholders; they aren't final yet!

And the grass and stone is temporary as well. I haven't decided if i'm actually going to model out the stone blocks in the ground. Maybe just a displacement map.

If ANYONE knows a good library of grass/stone/rock textures, please let me know. I don't want to have to draw this grass/stone by hand, it would take forever.

Oh, you guys can help me.

I need to know...how many sides does the Tower of Ecthelion have? And does anyone have an image of a floorplan of the top level of Minas Tirith? Or have some really good screenshots of the LOTR Conquest Minas Tirith courtyard level?

That would be tremendously helpful.

Well heres what I found for Minas Tirith floorplan thing ;) I know its not the best but thats all I could find on google. Maybe I'll fire up the game or look at some youtube videos about it and then take pictures of the courtyard. To tell you the truth I don't even think thats conquest game :p
