I mean: if the real first line of defence is the IN i hope we'll have something similar to counter xeno's invasions

The navy or rather guard have a less good station.
I personally want to have the entire imperium as a faction, since the marines rarely engage in anything entirely on their own. Star forts would make sense, and the marines would seem better in comparison to normal troops. There's a whole list of reasons why combining would be better really..

Om du kan tro på ditt när andra riktar

Though the space Marine Stations are far superior that the Imperial ones they will also be far more expensive and so more rare. not to mention Space Marines dont get many classes of ships and will even be limited on the amount of battle barges they can have
this means that the Imperial navy will be able to feild more captial ships in battle than the Marines which well hopefully balance out the sheer firepower the barge will bring into the fight
though it doesnt really help against a planet killer if it can destory a planet think of what it could do to a capital ship

The marines won't exactly be fielding more capital ships as their capitals are more expensive than IN ones. IN tactics are formed around ships of the line, cruisers and larger capitals. Marines are all about strike craft and boarding actions.

yes, we in all honesty the marines shouldn't have astation at all, it's not in the marines' duty to hold a planet, the IN is supposed to do that. The IN should really have the ramilles, but meh.
The navy or rather guard have a less good station.

Fortress Monistary.
They have a fortress monistary similar to the ramslies class star fort, which is capable of Warp travel however such a large object traveling through the warp is consideriblly risky.
Black Templars do not have a base or homeworld as they are on an eternal crusade. Howeever they do make keeps as a staging and rallying point for their crusading fleets.
