Incorrect. The most maneurable soviet plane was Yak-9 and the best soviet tank was IS-2. You did not even hear about them. Why so bad?the best russian tank in the WW2 was the kv-1, the t-34 was fine, but i would love that the kv-1 would have win the war
....
perhaps the soviets had the most maneouverable fighters, the yak-3, and the la-7 but with very poor protection and poor trained crews
Drake, are you sure you're german? Panther had 75mm cannon. And please answer the question why people love to compare HEAVY CLASS Panther with MEDIUM CLASS T-34?And about tanks, the Phanter was undermotorized and was sent into service without fieldtesting, it would have been better with good testing before, but still they owned the T-34 on ranges of about 2km with teir 8.8cm cannons
Evolution of KV-1 was:yes Is were better, but Kv1 came earlier in the war, im sure that if they would keep the development of that tank, then they would had a russian panther
KV-1 (base model, with 76mm cannon)
KV-1S (light variant with higher speed)
KV-85 (KV-1S with new turret and new 85mm cannon)
IS-1 (new chassis, but turret from KV-85)
IS-2 (more armored, new turret, new 122mm cannon)
IS-3 (had been developed during the war, but produced after the war)

But a Panther version was planned with the 88, and in a commaent of the russians first encounter with the Panther the russian commander said that the Panther may be armed with the 88
And by the way it's said that the cannon of the Panther is better then the Tiger one

the same case of the is-2, this tank came too late in the war
maybe the confusion is whos the best technologically -yak-9U-, and who was the most important in the war -yak-3, la-5-
the panther had a better "gun" than the tiger, but because a special ammo (tungsten head), there werent many of them in war

A wise man chooses death before war, A wiser man chooses not to become war.
Foamy!?!! Xombie!?! Awesome Cannon Rock
Everyone should watch this and pass it on as its a very good argument on the subject of Global Warming.

the German ace had like 300+ kills and i think 50+ was in a me 262ok Creator, first the standar soviet yak-9 plane was the yak-9U and it come later in the war, yes was more maneuverable than the yak-3 specially at heigh, but the 3 was the yak that faced the migthy bf-109 first and in the "hot" period of the war, actually the best soviet figther in WW2 was the la-5, and the best ace in the allied side (US, soviet, england, etc) fowln a la-5

so which one is it tiker?300+ kills and i think 50+
Anyway. Remember. Even if you only have 22 rounds and you hit your target(s) with every round
it's still better than having 32 rounds and missing half the time.

i mean 1 German shot down 300+ planes and 50 of these were in a ME262(not sure though but total kill is 352 and he survived the war)
his name is Erich Hartmann
The best German tank commander killed with 234(i think) tanks
he died in the falaise pocket(allied traped him and other Germans)

1) The term "MBT" appered in 1960s, when such classification as light/medium/heavy tank had been eliminated. So, let us don't use this term when we talk about WW2.Ok, Creator true the Panther had the 7,5 mm, and by the way both the Panther and the T-34 are classified as MBTs not Heavy MBTs, and by the way they are quite compareable in my opinion, basiclly the Panther was the German version of the T-34, atleast when you look how the germans got to it's idea.
But a Panther version was planned with the 88, and in a commaent of the russians first encounter with the Panther the russian commander said that the Panther may be armed with the 88
And by the way it's said that the cannon of the Panther is better then the Tiger one
2) Weight of "medium" Panther Ausf H is 45 tonns. Weight of heavy KV-1 is 43 tonns. How can medium tank be heavier than heavy one? By the way, weight of T-34 is 26 tonns. Panther is twice heavier.
3) I'm not asking you what cannon they PLANNED to install and also I'm not asking you about rumors around Panther.
At first, 28 rounds. At second, it was enough because 122mm shell could guarantee kill with first hit, while 75mm cannons needed to hit enemy tank 2-6 times.bad thing about IS 2 is the ammo capacity
i think only 22 rounds were carried
It wereitz called Su 152
ZIS-30 (based on Komsomolets tracktor)
Su-76
Su-85 (based on T-34)
Su-100 (based on T-34)
Su-122 (based on KV-1)
Su-152 (based on KV-1)
ISu-122 (based on IS-2)
ISu-152 (based on IS-2)
And so what? Yak-9U is just improoved version of Yak-9. Different modifications of Yak-9 were used widely during the war. It was the most mass produced soviet fighter of WW2 time. Yak-9 had entered production in October of 1942. And the same is for IS-2 (entered production in December of 1943).ok Creator, first the standar soviet yak-9 plane was the yak-9U and it come later in the war, yes was more maneuverable than the yak-3 specially at heigh, but the 3 was the yak that faced the migthy bf-109 first and in the "hot" period of the war, actually the best soviet figther in WW2 was the la-5, and the best ace in the allied side (US, soviet, england, etc) fowln a la-5
the same case of the is-2, this tank came too late in the war
Tiger used tungsten ammo too. And in gereral, ammo is stand alone story.the panther had a better "gun" than the tiger, but because a special ammo (tungsten head), there werent many of them in war
