No. they were never "popular" but at first they were atleast note worthy because america was suffering in the great depression and they showed how effective the econic reforms were in Germany. The actualy onset of WW2 was a pretty lethal blow to the public's opinion.

Skin heads (Neo Nazis) and KKK still exsist, but they are a very small minority who don't refelct the opinions of the people they claim to represent. They're not even a 1% of 1% of the population. They're just people so wrapped up in hate they can't think for themselves.

IS-2 was used late war, and looks almost identical.

No. First IS-3 tank exited factory doors in 3 months after the end of the war. It could not be used in battles because the war was over.

Yeah you can't say it like that Guest said, like The Tiger Squadron fought with their old P-40s like hell in China and had great sucess agaist Zeros cause of better skills and better tactics and so on, they even did night interceptions with those old birds
Then there havn't only been Spits Mustangs and Bf-109, you forget a hole bunch of Planes like the Fw-190
And about tanks, the Phanter was undermotorized and was sent into service without fieldtesting, it would have been better with good testing before, but still they owned the T-34 on ranges of about 2km with teir 8.8cm cannons

As i've said (and yelled) in the past It's not all about the vehicle.

ace pilots always win agents rookies, and that the same for all things an ace tank crew agents another and the ace wins. or an ace platoon vs the rookie platoon ace comes out on top.

But that was a bad comparason , the mustang is very similer to the spitfire, the main difference is it has a bigger turning cicle and it has more fuel as it was ment as a logn range intercepter.

the best russian tank in the WW2 was the kv-1, the t-34 was fine, but i would love that the kv-1 would have win the war

but the panther was the king , no doubt

about the planes all the sides had their "stars"

the americans of course with the p-51 and p-47

the germans the me-109, that was better in "turning" combat , but the f-190 was faster and better climb

perhaps the soviets had the most maneouverable fighters, the yak-3, and the la-7 but with very poor protection and poor trained crews

but the king was the spitfire
