Open the case. Clean everything out with a small brush.oh great now i feel like a complete cheap bastard here with my nvidia gforce fx 5200 video card (128mb) which keeps on giving me BSODS :(
Also, check your PSU. Sometimes they can be the prob with something like this. It isn't forced to be the card, but try googling around.
I used to have a GF4 MX440. It wasn't stellar, but it was better than the integrated I had. It let me run RTW on the lowest settings. However by that time, my old box needed replacing anyway...I couldn't upgrade it any more than I had, so I got a whole new comp. MX cards are stripped-down versions of the regular GeForce. Why the fuck they put letters on it to make it seem better, I really don't know. It's completely false advertising. For me, they shouldn't make such fucking inferior products...the MX should be the better one, not the bottom of the bloody pile.Whee, NVIDIA GeForce 2 MX/MX 400
Not sure if that's any good or not
It always comes down. That's why I'm always hesitant to upgrade. I know a week later something better'll come out and push the price of my existing down. When I get to uni and get everything sorted (and get some cash), I might take it back to where I bought it from and get the upgrades installed. I can do RAM myself (easiest thing in the universe), but I had a lot of trouble installing my GeForce last time, which kinda put me off.I've been considering upgrading to 2 gigs of RAM for a while, but I'll probalby wait and see if the prices come down any more in the next few months.
