You don't NEED a new graphics card with that sort of rig...if you've got a system that good, your graphics card should be up to speed too...otherwise you're wasting a good thing.

It's true, tho, that most progs and games don't know how to use dual-core yet, right? :p

Is it and Intel or AMD dual core?

I was just about to ask the same thing.

On the whole BF2 thing, what graphics card do you have again Ash? 'Cause if your running in SM2.0 mode than it will make a huge difference in your performance. And 2 gigs of RAM does make a difference. Takes away all the stuttering at the beginning of play and loads levels faster.

Pff you need to pay attention when buying new stuff.

Take me for example, i have a:
Athlon 3000+ 64bit
2 gigs o ram dual twinmos
a winfast geforce 7800gt
and a dfi lanparty sli capable mobo

(yay my dick is now big!)
Now why shed cash for athlons 3400 or more when a athlon 3000 can be easily overclocked, especially on the genius mobo that is dfi lanparty. 2 gigabytes of twinmos ram are just enough for the nearest 2-3 years (they're almost indestructible, overclock heaven all over again), and nobody will argue that the geforce 7 series are a huge success in terms of performance. I mean come on it's the shining star of gfx cards (at least until dx10 comes out), ati can only be envious since all the radeon x1600 works good for is benchmarks. Definatly was worth buying.

BTW Anyone know how much is dual core supported by everything that is out there?

There isn't a whole lot of support as of right now, but everything coming out from games (especially games) to the Photoshop are being written to support multiple cores.

And for the whole processor bit, why buy a 3000+ when I can buy a 3500+ and overclock it to 4000+ speeds?

Because I overclocked my athlon 3000 to 2.8ghz (350x8). That means i mean business :p

(actually its tuned to 2.4 now but it did run stable on ut2004 ultra high while 2.8 ghz)

Maxtor 60Gig HDD [ 5Gig Windows partition/55gig data partition ]
Lite-On DVD +/- RW drive
Radeon 9600Pro 128meg AGP
Shitty HP case [ I built the PC myself, but couldn't afford a case...so i used an old HP case that was laying around. ]

Wireless headphones are okay, but I like wired ones better. Then again, I'm an audiophile, so, yeah.

Sennheiser ARE audiophile headphones, These do not sound wireless in the least. Once you get them tuned into the frequency just right, they are amazing.

They should be to, since they were like...in the 150 dollar range brand new IIRC.

I know the brand is good, but I just have my reservations against wireless headphones. I still havn't found a pair that I liked, including some that were well over $500.

I got intel Dual-core, and no probs at all yet, every prog I used so far has been integrated... All that stuff I mention came with the comp, including the RAM, I was lucky =P The reason I need the graphic card is cuz the one I have now is an ATI Radeon X200 which really, really, REALLY stinx... to say the least :p

I have reservations against wireless anything O_o The batteries are a pain, and the signal can get disrupted...all that. I have a plain logitech ultra slim keyboard and a mx518, both cable. Best equipment i've used so far.

My headphones have internal rechargable batteries that last for 36 hours straight, but every night I put it to rest back on its recharging craddle.

as for my keyboard, the batteries last about a year in it [ with good duracell batteries, not cheap POSs ], my mouse can go for about 4 months on 2 AA batteries, because I modded a on/off switch into it and turn it off at night.

I was very reluctant to go wireless on my mouse, but took the chance, and I'm very glad that I did.

I want a wireless mouse... My feet always get stuck on the wire when I put my feet under my desk.

OLD SIG
When history witnesses a great change Razgriz reveals itself,
first as a dark demon. As a demon it uses it power to rain death upon the land,
and then it dies. However after a period of slumber Razgriz returns
As the demon sleeps, man turns on man.
Its own blood, and madness soon cover the earth.
From the depths of despair awaken the Razgriz.
Its raven wings ablaze in majestic light.
Amidst the eternal waves of time
From a ripple of change shall the storm rise
Out of the abyss peer the eyes of a demon
Behold the Razgriz, its wings of black sheath
The demon soars through the dark skies
Fear and Death trail its shadow beneath
Until Men united wield a hallowed sabre
In Final Reckoning, the beast is slain.

I had a wireless mouse. The range wasn't long enough, or the signal wasn't strong enough, or something. I sold it to a pawn shop for $15 saying I bought it for $300, but my software wasn't compatable.

Sounds like you bought a cheap piece of shit bargain basement mouse...Or you were trying to use the mouse from a ridiculous distance from the transmitter.

Mine is good up...shit...10 feet away. Which is a LONG way for a mouse to reach, considering normal operating distance is from 1 to 4 feet away from the basestation

RTFM, he TOLD them he bought it for $300. That doesn't mean he was telling the truth.

@Komataguri - Only 10 feet? I've used mine from 30 feet away from the base station with no dropouts at all. Then again, I paid a good bit of money for it, it damn well better work from that far away.
