And you've been modelling for what, a year?

What method did you use?

I really don't do requests and my Arnor Soldier is not fit for BFME. Don't ask me for either.

i am really glad that you like it

And you've been modelling for what, a year?

could be like that. but mi first scratch model was like 6 or 7 months ago and it was just a spear.

Here I am struggling to make decent-looking spears, while you and Nertea are making all this from-scratch insanely detailed stuff

when i start i wasnt able to model anything. even shield was a big problem for me. just keep trying and look for tutors on the net, you can learn usefull things from it.

What method did you use?

well this isnt my first try to model highpoly head. i spend some time to go through a lot of tutorials about body modelling and i saw like hundreads of wire renders to get an idea about the best topology. the best way for me to model something like this is to start with a basic refence image, plane and extrude edges.

those tutorials were great help for me

edit: wire render just for the case that you want to see it. i also add eyes and model lids. clicky

i have two things to show. first one is scratch modeled swordman based on Kindom of Heaven movie. i am still working on skin.

Posted Image

second one is uruk scout or more likely just shield, helmet and sword for him, since the body is just slightly edited lurtz. but i change the mapping on the model so it works with uruk CAH skin ( i doesnt have the skin on this comp so i cant show that). so if someone want uruk scouts for bfme2 just let me know.

The KoH guy looks a bit out of proportion from here. I think the arms may be a bit too long. The scout weapons are nice though.

it could look so but if fits on boromir's skeleton perfectly. i have the skeleton in max during the whole modeling proces, it is a good way how to catch proportions.

after a long time i play BFME2 today. and i notice that those Half troll marauders are really horrible. i didnt like that goblin style that EA put on them. so remodel and reskin them a bit. nothing special just to make them look like the book description says. two versions on the render are hard armored and one with normal. i also try to change the green color of the skin but i am not sure with the result. if someone want it pm me.

Meh. You did the best you could with the source material, but just seeing those anims/body shape makes me cringe.

Skin looks nice though.

not a model this time but i would like to show 3 .avi files of anims that i made. those arent scratch made cause unlike EA i cant work with motion capture so i need to use as much of EA's work as possible. well not all the time, sometime there is need to work from scratch but it takes looooong time and it isnt very funny *points at RA trebuchet*. but still i can do some nice variations on EA's work. this time i was inspirated by Cel's awesome Gildor Inglorion. so i go around all the anims and notice that some of Saruman's moves could be usefull for someone with weapon like that. so i give a shot and made those three attack anims dont mind that model it is ugly i took it from BFME2 and made small corrections.
