This new mod just keeps on getting better and better. Very nice Celeglin, but may I ask something? (that's a laugh, I already did! :xcahik_:) Didn't forces from Rivendell aid Lothlorien and Mirkwood in clearing out Dol Guldur? :p

Nope, that was an EA thing. On my end though, the entire "storyline" I've created for the Eriador Elves (unless you count the Fords mission) never occurred in the books either. Parts may have happened, but none were recorded in any of the books.

Well some maps can be taken from RA... also some will need a lot of new assets and that would mean a lot of extra work. But nevertheless it sounds great. Thats how you plan an elven campaign EALA! ;)

I see, thankyou for clearing that up. I can't help wanting the two Elven factions together in Dol Guldur though, just want to see two different strategies being used at the same time, making the Elves unstoppable! :D *cackles uncontrollably*

So true... :p

You know, you do bring up a good point. A final mission in which you get to use both factions together would be great (*points at how Black Gate has both Gondor and Rohan*). Of course, I'd have to completely make up a mission, as I want Dol Guldur to stay as is. Bah, not something I need to worry about right now.

How about something like all the elves leaving middle earth?
You would need to cut a path through lots of orcs and crap......

Cool! Maybe something before the last battle, like maybe Mirkwood is in trouble and all the Elven kingdoms go to aid Thranduil or something...probably not though. :p

Nice idea, though it wouldn't really make sense. By the time most of the Elves got their act together during the War of the Ring to leave Middle-Earth Sauron had been defeated.

Hmm...seems intresting. I don't like the idea of Elven axemen too much. I really can't see an elf using an axe. Other then that it looks good. I'll try to dig up a few ideas for the factions too.

I think Celeglin posted a reason on why there were Axemen and Mounted Archers. It was in this thread, but a while back.

Cirdan had lead sorties/attacks of Sindarin axemen a few times over the course of the years (can't think of specific examples atm, but I know at least one happened during the Wars of Sauron and the Elves)... Forlindon Bows are basically my own creation. There were a good number of Noldorin Elves in Lindon during the Third Age, and I figured horse archery would be a worthy skill for these High Elves. As for why I decided on Sindarin for Harlindon and Noldor for Forlindon... There are some implications that the Sindar settled in the south (Har), with the Noldor in the north (For), and had Mithlond as a centre for the two.

Found it. Above are the reasons behind the Axes of Harlindon/Forlindon's Bows.

Edit: sorry for the double post; couldn't think of another way to incorperate the quote. :D

maybe the reason for not liking axemen is because it doesn't sound elvish.... it's the same with Uruk-Hai Pikemen, and Uruk Swordmen, and so on :D

and I see a nice elvish axe, with inscriptions on the "blade" and "helvete så nice!!!" (hell that's nice)

I agree with axes not sounding Elvish, but yeah, you can imagine a handful of Elvish axes with inscriptions on them. Man they will look nice. By the way, what design did you have in mind for the axes, Celeglin? Are they gonna be slightly curved in their shape (meaning the handle) or something?

Axes are one of the main weapons of the Sindar, beaten only by bows I think. It's all these other rip-off fantasies which make people think every elf wields a bow and has stupidly big pointy ears.

Nah, I always stick to Tolkien's interpretation of the Elves, rather than, say, World of Warcraft. But bows and spears were supposed to be their longest standing weapons.

I got another idea for the last level.
The rest of the elves are waiting for the ships to come, but while they are waiting the remaining goblins/orcs/trolls attack. So just another survive mission
