Haha yes they were, they're sorta like the heavy cavalry of Alexander the Great's army.

Uruks (phalanx) pin the enemy in place, beserkers sneak in and slaughter the army while they are busy fighting the phalanx (uruks).

Use them on their own and they suck, they suck majorly. Throw them in with an army and they pwn, due to their splash damage.

I just got an idea for a new power for Boromir...cause Boromir is my favorite character in LOTR and he just gets crappy powers.... :crazed:

1. Knife throw- use Gimli's 'Axe throw' animations but change it to a knife
and/or
2. 'For Gondor!!'-- All units (+Faramir) get a defence and experience bonus for _____ seconds

If you dont use one of these then please give Boromir something else....cause when u get him at lvl 3...he has no abilities and his damage is low...so PLEASE give him something new

i dont see why people think Boromir is so weak. He has knockback which is so powerful. if you cant level him, send him to a troll cave to one-man the troll.

Yeah Boromir is not weak. His knockback means he can pwn melee heroes/monsters, and his horn is one of the most useful abilities in game.

I do think however his horn should be altered so it doesn't only effect level 1 units.

I wouldn't mind seeing Boromir with another ability, I mean seeing what the RA team have done with him (not saying that you should copy them of course :p), they have come up with some very useful abilities. He is a favourite among many (he won the Fellowship Survivor game that we created :p) so I think he deserves something more. But he is definately not underpowered.

i dont see why people think Boromir is so weak. He has knockback which is so powerful. if you cant level him, send him to a troll cave to one-man the troll. ;)

In my opinion the knockback is stupid. I mean nowhere in the books OR the movies did he knock a guy down, and just thinking about a mere man knocking soldiers down three-by-three is annoying. ^_^ He should've been given a damage upgrade in Patch 1.03 in my opinion.

Yeah Boromir is not weak. His knockback means he can pwn melee heroes/monsters, and his horn is one of the most useful abilities in game.

I do think however his horn should be altered so it doesn't only effect level 1 units.

I agree with you there; his Horn of Gondor ability should be altered. It should affect units according to their race and rank, i.e. Elves would only be affected at level 1 since they're the highborn, Men at about level 1-4; and Orcs, Uruks, Goblins etc. should be affected until level 5-6. That sounds about right to me.

people think Boromir is weak because he died in the first movie/book and didn't kill a large Demon or something like Gandalf. but when i think of Boromir i think about the defence of Osgiliath before the movie started.

man that was an awesome fight
in War of the Ring (which is an other strategy game of LOTR) you can play that siege
it's except for the siege of Minas Ithil the best map

By 'crappy powers', i meant that he doesnt have a "POWER" move (i.e. Legolas' Hawk Strike or Haldir/Faramir's Woudnig Arrow)...he is the only fellowship member, other than Hobbits (excluding Sam), that does not have a POWER move....

And I know that he has the knock-down power...but I'd just like to see him with a power that he starts with :xcahik_:

Oh before I forget...I noticed that the AI version of Sam can use his Frying Pan ability before he gets to level 3...(he killed my Merry ;) )
