I have a couple of questions here, you know in the old forums there a screenies of a battle between the Dwarves, the Men of Dale, and the Gundabad orcs, and there were carcases strewn alll over the place, normally in BFME dead units sink into the earth after a few secs but these one stay there. My question is do the dead bodies stay on the battlefield?

My second question is; you know there are two upgrades for archers now: Marksmen and Fire Arrows. Marksmen increase damage to enemy units, and fire arrows now do more damage to structures but are less acurate against units. The point is if I had an archer batallion could I be able to upgrade them with both Marksmen and flaming arrows or do i have to choose one or the other.
I will remember Rhovanion Alliance, RIP .

Both. Marksmen increases accuracy, ie. damage, and fire arrows does damage to buildings as you said.

Those old screenshots are from an old old alpha version of which little remains. That version was created solely for trailers, and therefore had all units shoved into one building.

Close, but not really, and certainly not all of it.

Weird how you know that, while I (part of the staff) am not really sure.

You're probably right though...

Well, it's fairly obvious, and it's been said before.

It makes perfect sense to me, an expert marksman would still be able to shoot fire arrows wouldn't he.

That would be so awesome if done; another addition to the already massive eye-candy section of the mod.

Yep, makes perfect sense.

From experience that DLotS have in BFME+ i can say that if the sink time is higher then 30 sec it causes lag. You know too many polygons on the map etc.

I know, that's the only downside: the lag. But under 30 seconds, would that cause much lag as well?

That would just be like them being alive for another 30 seconds polygon-wise. It's just when you fill your CP several times, so there is hundreds of dead bodies everywhere that it gets laggy.

idea: some time after they die, replace their model with a flat sprite (or very low poly model) on the ground

Yeah, an entire army of dead orcs laying outside your gates would be cool at first, but it would get old real fast.
