Bows -> faster firing speed, more training to be good needed, more range, quicker reloading
Crossbows -> more power and piercing power, easy to be trained with

If there isn't team colors, like say your Gondor with a Gondorian ally how would you be able to tell you and your allies units apart :D ? And if there aren't team colors then the mini-map's pretty much useless[not trying to sound mean] ;)

i dont look at profiles ;) there is a list of the days bithdays at the bottom of the main revora forum page.

the mini map is still helpful because it shows where people are. and you can tell you and your allies units apart by selecting everything in the group. that will highlight your guys to move.

Well if i were to change my birthday date every single day would it keep announing my name? Not that i would do so but. I think that on the mini map, there would be distingushed colors like white would always be you, red be the enemy, and some other color for allies.

Gondor Captain: I see those rebel gondor scums advancing their cavalry on our knights, Issue an order to move our knights behind that pike regiment over there

Soldier: Yes sir. [Informs knights to hide behind the pikemen]

Moments later...

Knight: Is it supposed to hurt like this?

If you did do a mirror battle of Gondor v Gondor and there are no team colors (WOO-HOO! ;) ) Then you'll just have to ook at the minimap, or simply use your commoon sense to identify them.
I will remember Rhovanion Alliance, RIP .

The Gondor vs Gondor problem is difficult. I personally think a lot of the team colours are a bit much. Perhaps the other staff could have the added colour less noticeable rather than removing it completely. I dont know how easy that is to do though.

and minimaps always show the team colours

I am glad to see team colors leave. What ever problems come up can't be as bad as those colors.

when you select units, there is a decal showing up on the ground, which is colored to match your housecolor.

So what your all saying is that all faction units on screen will have the same colours, but when you select them their decal will show your team colour...and the mini-map will show team colours as well. Cool...

...The Journey doesn't end here; death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass. And then you see it. White shores...and beyond. A far green country, under a swift sunrise...

...Many folk like to know beforehand what is to be set on the table; but those who have laboured to prepare the feast like to keep their secret; for wonder makes the words of praise louder...
