The old world will burn in the fires of industry! The forests will fall! A new order will rise...we will drive the machine of war with the sword and the spear and the iron fist of the Orc! We have only to remove those who oppose us...

i have to agree with Matias absolutly. spend some time on your skins rather then making thousands of units.

You're kind of at a fifty/fifty-stage. You're producing the units, yes, but not producing them in a manner equal to the scope of your mod.

This game is a RTS not a FPS a lot of detail is lost in game.
Details are only there to show off.But time spent texturing in frills is time spent away from other areas of modding like coding,AI,Mapping,Audio,2D art and other areas.
A lot of thought goes into every skin I make, I usually spend more time designing and planning units then making them.
Only a small fraction of my work gets shown here.
I think people need to remember that there is more to modding then pretty skins there is a lot of other things involved.
I may have a look at remaking the Olag Hai swords I admit I usually rush weapons.
But this will all depend on mood and schedule.

The whole point of this site and forums is for people to learn about modding and improve their skills through practice and critique (both from yourself and other members). We're not doing this to put you down, but to try and get you to improve your skills. But if you don't want our advice, then fine.

The last skins I made took around half an hour or more each.
I don't rush texturing i'm a fast worker.
It does come off as putting me down, saying that I don't show quality just because I have quantity doesn't mean I don't have quality as well.
What exactly do you mean by "smaller details" and how do I lack them?.

Here lies the general disagreement. They may be good enough for what you intent to have for you mod, and that's fine. They're just not great if you look at the general quality of BFME skins. What are you talking about they look great (except Grishnakh but that one has always been difficult)
You need to realise that T3A is a community where people are encouraged to give constructive criticism on the posted work of other members. Especially as a hostee you shouldn't be surprised you get critical comments. So, when you post a lot of renders, you can expect nothing less than to receive criticism on these renders. People will look at the models, skins, binding, etc. and tell you how they think you can improve your work.
While it's absolutely fine to set yourself a certain quality goal and spend time to improve other elements of your mod, you should keep in mind that reaching that goal doesn't mean everything looks great and that there is no more room for improvement.
It does come off as putting me down, saying that I don't show quality just because I have quantity doesn't mean I don't have quality as well.
Nearly everyone here is talking about skin quality when they say quality. The reason for this is because you advertise your mod by posting renders.A lot of thought goes into every skin I make, I usually spend more time designing and planning units then making them.
Only a small fraction of my work gets shown here.
I think people need to remember that there is more to modding then pretty skins there is a lot of other things involved.
I said nearly everyone, because from the second comment I understand you aim at other qualities in your mod.
What I don't understand is that you use an element in which your mod doesn't outshine the other hosted projects to promote your project. Why not use that element to promote your project instead?
Decrease the number of renders and start showing other elements of your work, elements which you value more and where you do have the ambition to outshine the other hosted projects.

I post up screenshots and concept artwork as well as renders.
It is difficult to show off some coding or AI work to the generel public.
I do often mention the other work that goes into the mod only renders ever get attention.
Very little of this "criticism" is constructive, Lauri's comments about the banner where constructive I listened to them.
These "critisicms" may not be malicious but that has how they come across, they are often rude and offensive.
I put a lot of work into my mod and have sacrificed a lot of my social life to keep working on it I would just like to be treated respectfully.
In a note on further updates I still have no internet so i don't know when the next update will come.
When I get internet beta 0.2 will be uploaded and there should be a good sized update.

IMO, you shouldn't get respect for sacrificing your social life... It's way more important than modding, as modding ain't even important. It's a hobbyI put a lot of work into my mod and have sacrificed a lot of my social life to keep working on it I would just like to be treated respectfully.
Although, I doubt that you have really sacrificed much of your social life if you mod... nobody should sacrifice real things for modding
Yet, I don't have anything too do with that..
Still, we can't describe how you can do things better, for instance how you can skin better.
All we can do, is to ask you to look at pics of the real material, and atleast try to make it look like the real deal.
Ie, metal looks like metal, maile looks like maile, leather looks like leather, ect...

Perhaps you could increase the ratio of screenshots and concept art a bit? Besides, screenshots are a good way to show coding and AI work. You can also use screenshots to show various combinations of units, giving people an idea of the size of your mod.I post up screenshots and concept artwork as well as renders.
It is difficult to show off some coding or AI work to the generel public.
I do often mention the other work that goes into the mod only renders ever get attention.
