Between now and the next polished release there should be very little new art work done. Instead the focus is on designing, testing, and fixing. the mod has always been so close to finished that its nearly criminal. I'd love to see this through to the end with a real community effort.

Yes, there is a way to do mind control thing. But there will be no any mind control in Contra. Too overpowering, imo.

Yes, there is a way to do mind control thing. But there will be no any mind control in Contra. Too overpowering, imo.


I know the Defector power, but what about something that makes units flee?

Hijackers. Just crossbreed hijacker with a tank shell and you will get mind control weapon. I made the code for it more than a year ago. It could '"hijack"" even infantry :lol:

I've also played around a little with stuff like that... as a part of a potential general power for Stealth, but I was thinking somehting more like the Mordor watcher base defense in BFME2. It SCARED enemies without taking them over.

taking control of a unit I know of already... but manipulating one's behavior (flee, cower, confuse, etc) without changing his team I don't think the engine can do.

I don't know what im talking about here, but i think BFME/2 and Generals use the same base engine with a few changes...

I don't know what im talking about here, but i think BFME/2 and Generals use the same base engine with a few changes...


the both use the SAGE engine. Theres almost no difference in the way the core engine works (thats why the same bugs are present), but the behavior modules used to control units are different. BFME2 has a much longer list of behavior modules and is much more versatile in aspects of controling an object.

Now that C&C 3 is coming out with the new kick a'ss engine I don't know if you can control it. :p Would it be to powerful to have the sabatouers resrt the generals powers? Could one of you map makers make a 1 on 1 tormenent map like front line. unlike the red alert map maker it is very difficut for me. :p

C&C3s new kick ass engine is STILL the SAGE engine... they've released 4 games already without updating the core engine components... I promise C&C3 will be the same. Don't get you hopes up... Its going to be beutiful, but it will still become unstable in online play just like all the games before it.

I know its the sage engine but it got a lot of improvements, I just hope I don't need a high priced graphics card to play it smoothly with all the details. If I regester do I have to make a mod, & are you going to send me some useless adds like gamespot does?

lol omg no. nothing like that at all. Infact the only emails I EVER get from revora are when I get a PM from another user. In that case its just a notification.

And you don't have to be on a mod team at all. Only a very very small percent of the Contra users are involved in modding other than suggestions. We have a few modelers and some folks who visit from other mods, but for the most part its just Creator and I plus a few guys who contribute when they can.

well I got an idea, it might sound silly... how bout giving each faction their "general" as a unit? xample giving toxin GLA "Dr.thrax" or giving Aif F USA "general granger"? these almighy units can wreak havouc.

I have some really good suggestions, atleast i think they are. You know how theres that new "digital camo" that US troops have? Well i think that it should be an upgrade for the US generals and it makes all infantry stealthed except when moving and when getting hurt. Another one i have is USA should also get an infantry unit called "Spec-Ops soldier" that can do all of Burton's abilities and can take out the power of an enemy's base-defenses, and whatever else you would like it to be able to do. One last thing is I'd really like to be able to sell buildings after i build them so i dont have to destroy them. Thanks alot :p

Can I suggest that artillery units with a huge area of effect (especially Iron Fist, smech, earth shaker) not to auto engage enemies like how normal ZH artillery units don't do?

Hm... The General units thingy is in ZH Retarded....
Well anyway.
Can you make it so those freakin' GLA missle silos won't fire inside your own base? or maybe just have it so you have to point them like a firing arc...
Or maybe just an abort launch button?

Ummm GLA uses stealth hrere (except USAs stealth planes and helis).
Why would you make a unit that is like the hero unit, thats why its called hero unit.
Selling buildings will be reanabled but only for base defences.

I suggest giving heroes some upgrades. making them more powerfull and faster.
