i don't think they want to make every general a clone of each other.


this is basically how it goes

most USA can destroy missiles at a slow rate. (good against large missiles, but sucks for small missile spam)

with the addition of base-defenses being able to destroy them

most China can Deflect Missiles (good against small missile spam, but sucks against large missiles (AOE)

with the addition of base-defenses being able to destroy them

GlA can't Deflect or Destroy missiles with the addition of base-defenses being able to destroy them


it is because the mod makers want variety that they don't just make GLA like the USA and China.


GLA is plenty good at other things, just play em!

Okay a suggestion for contra, im adding it to my mod but i haven'tdone anything for my modsince contra 5 came out.
add a team of special units like maybe SEALS or something similar SWAT whatever. Those guys can build 4 diffrent types of tents one can buld weak cheap infantry one can buld cheap vehicle 1 has radar and garrison and other is just garrisonable all tents do not have the conditionstate = garrisoned in their code. that way your enemy sees them but not that they belong to you. this allows for a diffrent kind of stealth

You do not get what I mean. I was referring to some sort of a defense against long range assaults. As you have clearly stated GLA is at the lowest rung of the ladder with only Base Defenses being able to target these long range missiles/rockets. I wasn't referring to making every general have a certain this or a particular that but rather a suggestion for a more levelled field by adding in some defense mechanism that allows the GLA to defend itself somewhat.

As for taclled, your idea is intriguing but wouldn't the building be a dead giveaway after the first surprise? As in after the stealthed garrisoned building destroy some units, wouldn't one know that THAT building is garrisoned and aim to destroy it? Please enlighten me.

yes it would be a give away but only if the player would remember that it is there it wouldnt work against AI but against a human player. thios is kinda like what the Green Berets do for the US they go into enemy territory and train coalition forces

so a weapon based around the way rocks form? how would we control that?
Humans i doubt will ever be able to control nature in such ways.

I think he meant using burrowing bombs that travel towards enemies. As for the stalagmite thing, I think it was just a name to call the unit/building that shot such bombs.

O why not just add one of the zergs from starcrafts broodwars exp. the one that borrows and sends a spike thourght the ground to the target.... >.>

I don't know for sure but with how tight the SAGE engines asshole is I don't think it will allow this.
And if it does it could be really buggy.
Old engines could handle this great (NOD Flame tanks. *sigh*) but with SAGE I don't know.
I've never seen it done.

Medic i have always wonder why the sage engin suck soo bad.... I mean ti sun and red alert u had some nice features, ti sun u had tick tanks that deployed into the ground, subterrainian apcs with twin flamethrowers (can't remember the name) and so forth. its lik the engins have gone back in time rather than progress.

My anwser as is very simple is "EA" ea will be the death of us all, WESTWOOD ruled that CnC was never buggy and rocked but noo EA fucks a great series up.

I know how to make subterainian units. I've been considering them for stealth GLA.

Between now and the next polished release there should be very little new art work done. Instead the focus is on designing, testing, and fixing. the mod has always been so close to finished that its nearly criminal. I'd love to see this through to the end with a real community effort.

wanna hear something horrible? EA games has child company here in Orlando... I put in an aplication yesterday :p I'll gladly work for the devil. My thinking is they simply need more good help to remind them what makes games good :p

The problem is pend when they get game makers that are good they say "oomg fire them ther etoo good" and so bugie or other companys hire them and make better more reliable games :p

EA has the abilty and money to make good games but they always fuck up at the last min they rush there products out its quantity over quality in there minds. Really anoys me i probley say 1 in 10 games is actuly good without meny problems. But most games they produce always have some problems in engin game play balance or such.

ASKG and SC (From V|GO) both have jobs at EA.
One UK one US.
So I'm not gonna go burn down EA. I kinda want to avoid killing them.

Welll ok how about we just burn the evil corperate guys that always say "no your over budget get that game out and leave all the imperfection in it" then maybe the peaple that do care about quality games could make them muhahah
