i think i might have understood, but i have no idea how to do it. I think it would work though. Good look

hey, speak for urself .

its working around the idea that its the model that gets deployed to the wall - not a projectile, and there are bones which the units follow to climb up it, so if you just make them all at the right distance and just make an animation with new bits like rope and presto!
- I'm trying to use the crossbow uruks like you said ... but they are being awkward and i really dont get why their going so... crazy
Almost binded it now though... soz i have the ideas but my moddeling /animating arn't great - maybe if i actually get it working a good animator could just redo the animations or something ? theres plenty a lot better than me

Binding this siege balista is still Realllly annoying me - it keeps crashing stupid RenX!!- I DID IT!! ;D

Yes, Cahik_ said that he would help me with the uruk shieldman, so I'll ask him about helping with some of the animations fo the model you're working on. I think he'll help with this one also because it's so unique and different from other animations

i'll try a few more things though...
btw did you want the ladder to go just on the outer hornburg wall
(the same on the gate is on)
or right up to the inside higher deepening wall...

:/ a few things keep going wrong which is discouraging

The outer hornburg walls... I want you to know that I'm going to be adjusting the size of the hornburg walls and are going to make them taller. That will probably affect the modeling because the ladder will need to be taller

okay...
on a rather annoying note for some odd reason my model has just screwed up completely - buttt
i think before it did it was working pretty much .... on the deepening walls - (so as the ladder will appear when its deployed and go up with the animation, stay there then go down and disappear when retracted - i havn't added ropes to the model yet but that shouldnt be too hard its just my animating will probably make them look more like sticks thats next on my list...
butt i think if your going to be changing the hornburg walls - to make siege ladders work on them you have to add the ladderbone onto them - just look at the deepening wall ones there are 3 boxes and the one in the middle is the siegeladder bone =)
so if you have or are going to make the new model for these walls to make them higher you will need to add these 3 simple boxes =)
i will try to resurect my model... - yay i did

Yes, I will add those boxes to the hornburg walls. For your model, do you have to make the siege ladder bigger and taller?

yessss
orrr....
if its not toooo big a change you could just use the " scale = "
in the object code
but also change one behavior about the distance fromt he wall when it deploys because scaling would make the distance between the balista and ladder bigger aswell
