NO... RING... HEROES... FOR... ANY... FACTION... OTHER... THAN... SAURON... CONTROLLED... FACTIONS! =p

...and Saruman, since most Fans want to see him as Ring Hero for Isen, but, NO good factions will have ring heroes! This has been said like 2800 times in this thread now. Stop trying to convince me to change my mind on this :good:

How about, instead of Ring Heroes for Good, The entire Fellowship! :good: Cause when good found the ring, they formed the fellowship. Makes sense?

Or the rest of the Fellowship. :good: (Like if your the Dwarven faction, it summons all the other members since you already have Gimili.)

1) Register!
2) Stop quoting in each post?
3) That is a pretty cool idea, but it has been up already if you read the thread ;p

Sorry for the Revival of this thread
But has the idea ever popped up to have "Keepers of the rings"? for the good sides?

The Evil sides can have their Ring hero's like Naz said, Sauron, Saruman.

And the good sides can have Keepers of the Rings to counter these Ring Hero's.

Like explained in the book and movies,
Galadriel was one of these Keepers, she had the Ring of Nenya.

The Dwarves also had one of these Keepers. (The Dwarves were given 7 rings)

And Aragorn was the Keeper of the Ring of Barahir.

EDIT: On a funny note, within the movies you could see both Galadriel and Aragorn were able to Resist the temptation of the ring, that might have just been the reason they were a "keeper", of one of the rings of power. So what I am saying game-wise is, when you have the ring in your fortress you unlock a Keeper of one of the Rings of Power :shiftee:

The 'Ring of Barahir' was a royal heirloom, a gift by the Noldo King of Nargothrond for loyal services rendered on the battlefield vs. Morgoth. It was not a ring of power. But otherwise, maybe this could be an idea. Unlock one 'Keeper' for the good factions, strong, but not overly so, and not as expensive as the evil ones. When using Saruman for Isengard, we still need to decide if we take him out as a regular hero or if he just becomes extremely powerful when in possession of the ring. I'd vote for the last one. Same for the Keepers (if we use this idea). Only Sauron should only appear when in possesion of The One Ring, for once because he is a coward, the other reason being his unstable shape needing the strength of the ring to make him stay 'coherent'.

Ooh, I have a new power idea for Sauron for one of those empty power slots. How about summoning a group of 5 veteran attack trolls with the siege mace upgrade?

Hey ok,

Thanks for explanation on the Ring of Barahir  All I hope (if this idea comes through) is that Gandalf is not to become a Ring-Keeper, since that would rule him out of normal play/battles :shiftee:

Lol sorry to keep speculating like this, but I had another idea to add to this, what about this:

We have a "Gandalf the Grey" buildable in the MOTW fortress, and as soon as the ring comes into the fortress, he changes into Gandalf the White (Keeper of the Rings). (Maybe that could also unlock his last and biggest power in the palantir screen)

I don't know if the old wizard ever kept one, but to be honest I couldn't really think of anyone better to be a ring keeper  for Men of The West.

Sûlherokhh? Nazgûl? What do you think?

This seems to be a monsterous debate. Having new ring heros won't necessarily have to be super accurate but it will be more accurate and variable than it is now anyway. Here are my thoughts, which align with others.

Mordor - keep the same
Elves - keep the same
Isen - Saruman (and yes, he obviously wanted the ring for himself)
Moria - They were too oblivious to the ring so don't change it OR give them smaug or "control" of a balrog. remember the ring gives the power to command over others.
Men - most logical is Isildor (hell why not? its cool and he had it before), if not then Boromir, Aragorn, or someone, just give them uber leadership. Thats what Sauron worried about, with the ring you can command over others to rally a massive army under one banner. Besides if a man and not frodo had it, it would have went to gondor. By having gollum running around with the ring you assume that frodo doesn't have it and the fellowship is not created. When you stomp out Gollum and get the ring, you get just that, a man and not frodo with the ring! Thus you get a Denethor ruled Gondor with the ring. Very Likely given the assumptions the game is opperating under.
Dwaves - No clue here. faster aquistion of resources?

As a side note. Sauron was in physical form in the LOTR books, he was just not that strong. Sauron tortured Gollum himself. Thats why Gollum mentioned seeing a hand with 4 fingers when talking to frodo. I would like to see Sauron as a hero just personally not too strong BUT with a strong leadership. When/if he gets the ring them make him powerful.

I read everything, but like I've stated on numerous occasions and in my "commandments", I don't always reply
Might be time shortage or whatever... but ok:

Lol sorry to keep speculating like this, but I had another idea to add to this, what about this:

Sûlherokhh? Nazgûl? What do you think?

Not a bad idea, but when we set it up as we have it now, we went for the movie way. But we'll see... *noted* :mad2:
