Either way, with the cost of Hammer guardians and their upgrades, you may as well just get a demolisher. Imo, they really need to just start with hammers to give them more of a purpose...

That's exactly right. They are only in there twice do to limitations on upgrades and combined units. Say that when you have two battalions, one that has the siege hammer upgrade and the other has the axe/forged blades. When you combine them they share upgrades and the coding can be messed up if they share the same unit (meaning that the siege hammer units share the forged blade and the forged blades share the siege hammer).

When we re-work the dwarves I'll be looking at this to see if it is something I can re-work. The same with the goblin fire archers and goblin poison archers. I would never even think to count these as a new unit. Just another unit force by ini restrictions.

Is there any plans to get rid of that horrible Dwarven statue? I think the Dwarfs would rarther be dead than be inspired by that thing.

I read somewhere that the Dwarves would eventually get a face-lift in terms of appearance.

From what I've seen playing as the Dwarves they have. I like the units and the Hall of Warriors(not sure if it was reskinned) and the Forge Works look good. imo, the axe throwers maybe need a different default skin, since it wouldn't surprise me if people have trouble separating their skins right now.

all (well, at the very least most) dwarven units have been reskinned, and all of their buildings were reskinned recently.

No doubt with rob and his team they probably will get a facelift. The RJ team have been working extremely hard so I'm sure an update will come sooner or later.

It would be cool if dwarven phanalax could really form a phanalax formation

Aye, and for starters, their formation is certainly not a phalanx, but with halberds as opposed to wierdass pikes.

When EA fisrt introduced Prince Brand as an archer hero for the dwarves (and an immensely overpowered one at that) it kind of defeated the uniqueness of the Dwarves having no champion Archers, or OP ones for that matter. perhaps all the Dale units and heroes could come from a separate building, to allow the player to focus on Dwarven units for their strength and resilience, and the Men of Dale come as an option. In doing so they get two archer heroes, swift swordsmen and versatile, and elite archers.

Edit: And on a fnal note, could King Brand please come with a sword. You'd think whilst training to fight and lead men at a young age, he'd at least been taught how to fight in close combat, and uphold the use of a bow, as tradition, started when Bard slew Smaug over Esgaroth.

I think there may be a separate Dale building in the works. However, I am glad to see that I'm not the only one wanting King Brand to have a toggle. :tongevil: Perhaps the halberd could be a random weapon skin for the phalanx along with the "axe pikes."

I think that you should have to build a special Dale-unit barracks and then you could build units from Dale. Then from that barracks you would have to purchase a further upgrade and then you could buy the heroes at the fortress if that is possible.

Yes... and that should stop sharing the model and skin with the Rohan Archery Range. The only difference is the people on the top... which I can't see anyway. :crazed:

I really hope a Dale barrack is in the works...

And could dale have a spear unit?
Say "esgaroth/laketown spearmen"?
Either way, it could be nice if Esgaroth had a unit in the game ;)

An Esgaroth unit would be interesting, spears sound ok. Perhaps he can be a level 2 unit for the Dale Barracks?

While it is intruiging, what would be the difference between the Dwarven Phalanx and the Esgaroth Spearmen?

Weaker and faster... or capable of throwing their spears like the Haradrim guard. :good:

That would make the Esgaroth spearmen alot more interesting. Has it been noted they do that though out of curiosity?

So basically a skirmisher unit?

I was thinking the same thing but for Dwarven axe-throwers, they could toggle between melee attacks and ranged, but they can only fire their axes for a certain amount of time represented by a recharge timer, when the timer is at the halfway point, the axe-throwers cant continue with their ranged attacks, and must resort to close combat, becasue after all it's realistic. Just to go with the feeling of limited archery in the Dwarves.
