Now I'm referring to the Uruks; including that helmet comment.

Amongst the hordes of Saruman's Uruk-hai there were several different helmet varieties; some even went without. Their variation was in the eye-holes; some had a single line going horizontally across the 'face' while others had a pair of crudely-cut circles to see out of. However, the sappers, crossbowmen, and pikesmen had different helmets unique to their weapon of choice. The commanders and banner-bearers had varying metal crests on their helmets if they chose to wear one. The variation between them was in their width, and the wider the crest, the higher the rank.

The berzerkers and some swordsmen went without.

Did you get this from the books or the movie appendices?

It can be found in both the bonus content on the Return of the King DVDs and in "Weapons and Warfare". Seeing as we're using the movie designs for the Uruk-hai, I think it would be a good idea to use those references.

Thats what I thought. I have those too. I didn't that much of the Uruk-hai had the eye hole ones. I'll rewatch.

For the most part it seems that the warriors had the eye-holes while pikesmen had slits; though it can be clearly seen in the images that both were to be found in either division.

I see that in a different topic there was some talk over the Beserkers. It seems to me that a massive 2h sword swung like that should at least do heavy splash damage and/or knockdown - however, Zerkers are so strong anyway perhaps they should have a cost increase.

They already do do splash damage? :xcahik_: And cost as much as two gondor soldier hordes...

Are you sure they do splash? I don't think so... It must be pretty tiny...
And hell, when it comes to kicking the living daylight out of heroes, they're well worth their cost.

they definitely do splash. it takes them a very short time to kill grouped units.

I love 'em. They're great, but killing them with arrows is slightly easier than it should be.

...Except battlewagons, which, if properly microed, pretty much never die unless they're swarmed with faster cavalry units.

I love battlewagons :shiftee: Especially since the AI seems to think pikes are a proper counter to them.

I can get my battlewagon killed if trample trough a pike wall :shiftee: Maybe zerkers could be a little more weaker to arrows? Like in Bfme 1. Or would that make them underpowered?

I think the shields of Uruk-hai should be larger.

Oh please sister, A Zerker even took more arrows than Boromir in the movie. What we need is stronger isengard units if anything...

Yeah, they should be strong against arrows and weak towards heroes and cavalry; they just seem like spam butchers to me :xcahik_:

Boromir took four, and the Zerker took two before he did a kamikaze move.

The Zerker barely even flintched. It was the boom that killed him, not the sting. He could have taken 50 more before he would be irritated by the pain. Bolomir took like a wimpy Urk arrow and cried about it.
...
Right.

I got the impression that Zerkers were somewhat elite in terms of Isengard units, stronger, without the need for armor because they can manage pain, besides aren't orcs supposed to be able to handle massive wounds and live, they guy in the movies seemed unstoppable - he was intent on getting to that bomb.
