So... had an idea the other day (about when yoda's Gondorian foot cavalry was stampeding into my base) about an idea for Isengard. Basically, it would be mines buried underground throughout your base. That's an easy way to explain it, though a better way would be Saruman's defenses in the books which he used against the Ents - massive deposits of incendiary gases and "fires of Orthanc" (as Aragorn put it) that he was somehow able to trigger safely from inside his Tower. So yeah. Maybe it could be another of his powers when the White Wizard stows away in his fortress?
