hmm...
I just came back from holidays and wanted to download the mod.
But if I try to download it from the SEE Site, it doesn't begin the download (I can see all pdf parts, but if I click on "Download", I only see a new white page. (no adress, and after 30 minutes there was still no changes).

Then I tried the link Sûl posted here: http://forums.revora...showtopic=55353

But then there came an error:

(Linkname was: http://see.the3rdage...tion_BetaIV.rar )

Error:
Not Found

The requested URL /BFME2-SpecialExtendedEdition_BetaIV.rar was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I have tried it with Firefox (my normal browser) and Internet Explorer. Both times the same results :(

Can someone help me?^^

Edit:
ok, now I can download it with... 4000 KB/s oO
I just had to wait 2 hours brfore I was able to download it^^ :p

Also, I have a problem myself. I can't reload saved games! I don't know what's wrong, but the file is there, but it isn't being recognized.

I tried moving my SEE directory folder in to the BFMEII main folder. Now when I start SEE I get only BFMEII.

I did change the "target" and "Start" In in the SEE shortcut properties on the desktop...

Any ideas whey it wont start the SEE mod? Or does it not like being in the BFMEII install folder.

I like to say that games are made by humans and some things just can't be fixed. I'm assuming its just in a location the game doesn't like, so.....I really don't know.

(@av8r btw, if you wonder why I respond to all your inquiries, its because this is my position on the SEE staff)

...If you don't want it or have it, download the .zip file that Windows can unpack HERE. You'll find it HERE! Scroll down until you see the English (or whatever) version of 3.62 (It is a free demo that does not have a countdown timer, only bugs you to buy the full version, just ignore the messages).Clonecommand

Hello clonecommand! Thank you for posting these links. In the above, I thought it meant that Windows' built-in extraction program (that come with XP) could unzip a "*.7z" file but it turns out it won't and neither will winzip, oddly. I got the "SpecialExtendedEditon.7z" and then went and got 7z extractor from their website http://www.7-zip.org/

Is there a risk in damaging SEE's files using that program to unpack it as opposed to using winrar? My SEE folder is 407,682,522 bytes and thats without the instructions, readme and englishsplash.jpg
I put the SEE folder here "E:\Games\SEE"
and the game here "E:\Games\The Battle for Middle-earth ™ II"

and will try it later, see if saved games replay and let them know on the other threads.

Thanks much!

EDIT:

cc, if I move the SEE folder to any other location than the recommended one, I can't get BFMEII to recognize the -mod SEE when I start the game. It always just starts the regular BFMEII.

So is there a way to put the SEE folder in (for example) "E:\Games\SEE" and have it play, or do I need to keep in the application data path the instructions say to.

Thanks again!

Yes, in the shortcut you must write

-mod "E:\Games\SEE"

I think the instruction said that too. You must have overlooked it. :thumbsupsmiley:

Instructions?

yes I did miss that. I'll correct it and try again. :thumbsupsmiley:

Thank you

edit:

fyi; in the instructions included with the beta 4.5 d/l there was nothing about editing the shortcut as you described above. I went back and looked; thats why I didnt see it in there :)

I am sorry. What i meant with instructions was not the official downloaded instructions but my post about it, since the idea to do it like that came way after the release. Look here: MyFirstPost and here:MySecondPost

Hello all,
I'm new here and just downloaded SEE.
I installed everything and works well, BUT:
When i start a skirmish theres no "special-ground" around my fortress and the worst thing is, that after exact 3.30 minutes everything is destroyed and i have lost!
please help me i really like this mod.
P.S.:I have installed the Collectors Edition...maybe that is a problem

Special ground you are referring to might be the special feature you purchase at the Fortress?

Also if the product key entered into the computer doesnt match the disc your using, it will die like you experienced. At least thats the only reason I know of; there may be more reasons that someone else might add to it...

i mean this modification of the ground around the fortress which had been added by the mod.
the problem of the wrong key isn't possible, because i used the original key which refers to the the cd.
(sry for my bad english :))

- The new "floors" are a FEATURE of the fortress now. You have to BUY them in game... Check the fortress upgrades ;)

- The "sudden death" you have is a familiar subject, but I can't recall what the fix was, sorry.

- This game runs with or without the CE edition

EDIT: This topic is "obsolete" since we have no Support Manager anymore... :) *unpinned*

Yes. It's EA's copy protection causing the 'sudden death'. Reinstalling with an original DVD/CD will solve it.
