Some questions for the next release

Hi there, i have been a player of the Contra 005 mod for a while and had some questions about the next release contra 006.

1. What is the estimated release date for Contra 006?

2. Will Generals Challenge and Campaign mode be enabled?

3. Will the China nuke generals Heavy nuke cannon and super nuke cannon have real names?

4. Will there be any new races, music, or voice overs added? (I can do voice overs)

5. Will there be any balancing work done?

6. Will the AI for the new generals work?

1. Release date is undefined yet. Development goes to the end. About 80% of work is done. But I really don't know when it is fully completed.

2. Generals Challenge only will be enabled.

3. Those heavy nuke cannons are fantastic. What real names are you talking about?

4. It will be new graphics - better 3D models, better effects and so on. New music will be added too. Also I'm interested in voices. Please record some samples and send them to me.

5. Yes of course. Nuclear General will be weakened, Air Force general will be strengthed, GLA will be weakened in early game, Super Weapon General will be strengthed in early game and weakened in later game. And so on. There will be many balance changes.

6. What are you about? It works fine in Contra 005.

Oh, your right they do work never mind. I guess it just didnt work that first time. Anyway If you have an MSN name or Xfire profile creator maybe we could talk about voice overs there because I am not quite sure what you have in mind for samples. Also the names i was talking about were like, how the Flame tank is named the Dragon tank. Or how the Chinese helicopter is named Helix. Those cannons are just named Heavy Nuke Cannon and Super Heavy Nuke Cannon. I can come up with names for them if you would like. One more thing, could you divulge some of the changes you are making for the china nuke general? (Please don't say nerfing multi-warhead hehe). Contra rulez!

I am not quite sure what you have in mind for samples.

I mean that you have to record some replics (such as "Yes sir", "Moving out", "Target locked" and so on) with your microphone and send them to me by e-mail or PM

At first, he will not have Retailator defenses any more. He will not have defenses at all. Also reload times and costs for some super weapos will be increased. Damage caused by all nuclear wepons will be lowered by 10-20%.

Sorry about the sig, i know that it is big but i am not sure how to change it. Also I was wondering if you wanted the voices un-edited. I can change the pitch and stuff to make it sounds like it isnt coming from a 15 year old american boy.

whaaat no defences for nuke general
maybe return the old gattling cannon or add tankbunker(so gattling tanks will defend the base from aircraft.

I give Creator props on the descicion. Its balsy, but Nuke general has traditional been so over-powered in Contra that this is the perfect type of move to bring him down to the same standards as everyone else.


Creator, an option to consider, once Nuke gets the propoganda center let him build a deployable base defense similare to the GLA trailers I've been working on, or the deployable retaliator tanks. They use the same deploy code as the nuke-cannons. This would give him a light and heavy defense, while preserving him as a uniquely offense driven general

Between now and the next polished release there should be very little new art work done. Instead the focus is on designing, testing, and fixing. the mod has always been so close to finished that its nearly criminal. I'd love to see this through to the end with a real community effort.

maybe make it in rank1 but wont have any nuclear buleets(deployable retaliator tanks) and it can be upgraded with nuc bulletts from paragonda center ( the red guard too)

Those nuke bullets were the shiznit. I owned my freind i play with every time early game because of them. I think they should be an upgrade reserved for mid-late game in the propoganda center.

i dont think airforce general should be more stronger thaat is the only general i defeated a nuke general ai in about ten minutes (insane ai he had only 1 war factory left that i have destroyed later cos i twas sorunded by defences and gattling tanks(and 2 powerplants of course)) so airforce general is strong and dont need to bee more stronger
airforce general is the best i play with in contra
and gla is alredy weak in early game so i think it most be more stronger ( chemical general and stealth are weak the other two are good)and i think the hatf3 missile must be stronger cos its weak and have long reload time

I just want to make generals more unique. Let it be one general without defenses.
And by the way, I'm going to make Super Weapon general with no units. She will have buildings and dozers only. It will be fun.

airforce general is the best i play with in contra

He will not be very powerfull. I've just made some planes slightly cheaper (about 10-20%). Also missile armed planes will be more effective versus anti-air units (yet again, about 10-20% more effective). And that's all.

In Contra 005 GLA can make Command Truck rush in the very begining. Command Truck comes before an opponent builds a war factory or barracks. Then GLA workers build defenses around ENEMY base before enemy builds first tank. It's really hard to withstand such strategy.

that will be cool one with no defences and other with no units
what about tank general with no infantry (but still have aircraft) and have a tank bunker instead of the normal
and remove the nuke missile from flame general cos he have strong powers and the nuke dosnt fit him
laser general shouldnt have shockwave bomb(maybe make the laser strike 3 levels)
and about the gla that mean that the command truck and the mobile stash be removed and return the old ones
about the nuke general you said it will be weak 10-20%? even battlemaster and overlord? (but i think the bertha shouldnt be weaker)

what if for the 3rd lvl laser strike, what if instead of like triple carpet bomb (just adds 2 planes on side of primary bomber) it like came in an X and another one from the side (-X-). if possible that would be kinda interesting.
