I wanted regular wolfes for Moria, but the Lore-guys made me change my mind saying there were no wolfes in Middle Earth


I don't know what they were thinking when they told you that. ;) Read The Hobbit and there is a very clear mention of the wolves. Wargs were not the monstrous lion/elephant/camel hybrids in the movies, but rather wolves that could communicate in their own rudimentary language, and had a great deal of intelligence. Mind you, I love the monster-wargs, but the goblins, if anything, should only have wolf-riders in this mod if you are trying to be as true to the books as possible.

Yeah, I've gotten both sides of the story, when it comes to Wargs/Wolfes, but for now we went with the Wargs. At least they're grey and not brown-ish like the Orc Warg Riders of Isengard... But we might change them into Wolf Riders if we convert to RotWK. We'll see...

For the Goblin King - 2 reasons:

1) We could not get the model to function without binding problems, and those cause the unit to look very strange in game. Not beautiful... And:
2) Sûl's been working around the clock to make it to Nov 1st, so we had to prioritize and a buggy model ends up very far down the list of priorities. If we would have set a later date, more things would have been finished, but we had to set A date, and it became Nov 1st ;)

Woohoo! Just half of a week left! With the release of this Beta, I'll be able to start my plans to make a short tribute video! ;)

Also, with all of these Betas, what can we expect from the FIRST stable build? Like "1.0", not "0.1" (or, in this case, "0.4". I've seen so many nice things from the screenshots of 4.5, it's hard to imagine what'll come up with Beta 5.

I imagine we'll probably have an entirely new game with the first stable build. ;)

I'd call this a VERY "stable build" already actually ;)

But Beta V, this spring (I like roman numbers, but 4.5 don't work that well with that roman system... "IV,V" lol), will be a BIG step towards the Final Relase sometime during late 2008. For instance we'll have a 7th faction in "Evil Men" (Rhûn & Harad) and perhaps even a conversion to RotWK just to gain more material for Spells and Units. But the EvilMen faction alone is a HUGE step regardless, with all the new units, spells and powers needed for that... The plan is that Beta V will more or less be the final version, but in need of extensive playtesting. And when tested thoroughly and adjusted properly - we'll have BFME2 Special Extended Edition's final release ;)
